Starting December 8th, when Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut comes to PS5, you won’t be able to buy the original Yakuza 0 (the PS4 version) digitally anymore.
SEGA has officially confirmed that Yakuza 0 will be removed from digital stores. If you want to continue playing the original digital version and don’t have a physical copy, you need to buy it before 8:29 AM PST on December 8th.
If you already have Yakuza 0 on PlayStation 4, or purchase it before the offer ends, you can upgrade to the Director’s Cut version for just $14.99, £11.99, or €14.99.
Okay, but why would you want to play the original Yakuza 0 over the Director’s Cut?
The Director’s Cut adds several cutscenes that were originally removed, offering more detail to certain story moments. However, some fans believe a few of these additions aren’t needed and actually detract from the original plot.
Some believe the Director’s Cut actually weakens the original experience of the game, and that Yakuza 0 is still best played without all the extra content.
Ultimately, the decision is yours, but we wanted to share that we still consider Yakuza 0 to be one of the very best games in the fantastic Yakuza series.
I’m so excited for the Director’s Cut – are you planning on getting it? And if you haven’t already, you should definitely grab the original Yakuza 0 while it’s still available! Let me know what you think in the comments – and maybe ‘donate’ a few virtual bucks if you’re feeling generous!
