Push Your PS5 Pro to the Limit with PSSR2 Update for F1 25’s New DLC

F1 25 has performed well on the PlayStation 5 Pro, and Codemasters is making the graphics even better in the game’s next update, which focuses on the 2026 season.

I’m so excited for the new DLC dropping this week on June 3rd! From what I’ve heard, it’s going to natively support PSSR2, which should give us a noticeably better looking game that also runs smoother. Can’t wait to try it out!

According to Technical Producer Si Lumb on the PlayStation Blog, F1 25 will have a noticeably clearer picture when the 2026 Season Pack releases.

You’ll notice this improvement in all three graphics settings: Quality, Performance, and Resolution.

Just to recap, the Quality mode offers smooth visuals at 60 frames per second with ray tracing enabled. Performance mode, on the other hand, delivers an incredibly fast 120 frames per second on displays that support it, such as the new 27-inch PlayStation monitor from Sony.

Resolution, meanwhile, targets a crisp 8K for anyone who has a compatible display.

PSSR2 improves the clarity of the picture, especially when the game isn’t rendered at the native resolution. Sony’s upgraded technology, released in March, has quickly become one of the best AI upscaling solutions available, and you can expect similarly strong performance here.

This downloadable content is taking the place of the yearly game release from Codemasters and EA Sports. However, it will still include all the standard updates – things like rule changes, updated team rosters, and the brand new Madring circuit.

Something for petrolheads to look out for, then.
