One standout feature of the Mario Kart series is that Nintendo consistently reintroduces tracks from previous games, usually enhancing them for better fit in the latest game environment. For instance, the track “Mario Circuit” from the initial Super Mario Kart can be found in Mario Kart World, though it has been modified to suit its new setting. Regrettably, not every track has transitioned successfully from one game to another. In the case of Mario Kart Tour, this mobile-exclusive game features a course that remains unique to it and hasn’t been made available on any other platform.
The subject course is referred to as Piranha Plant Pipeline. True to its title, this track follows the theme of the well-known pipes in the Mario series, featuring an abundance of Piranha Plants and other adversaries such as Sidesteppers and Fuzzies. According to Nintendo Life, this course has resurfaced in Mario Kart Tour, and can be played until July 22nd. If you haven’t yet experienced the track, now could be your opportunity before it disappears once more.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve noticed an intriguing anomaly regarding the exclusive courses in Mario Kart Tour: while many were eventually incorporated into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via the Booster Course Pass, Piranha Plant Pipeline remains the odd one out. It’s puzzling why this course wasn’t included when so many others made the transition. The course seems more fitting given its real-world locations compared to those in Mario Kart Tour. There’s hope that we might see it added to another game down the line, but for now, Mario Kart Tour remains its exclusive home.
It could be a letdown that Piranha Plant Pipeline isn’t available in other versions, but it does encourage players to revisit Mario Kart Tour. Since Nintendo stopped updating the game about two years ago, the existing content gets repeated. With no fresh courses or characters being introduced anymore, it’s likely many have shifted their attention elsewhere. This situation is quite common with older Mario Kart games when new ones come out!
The popular Mario Kart series has been receiving a great deal of attention recently, largely due to the debut of Mario Kart World. Launched as the flagship title for Nintendo Switch 2, the game’s sales have been robust from day one. Despite only being available for under a month, enthusiasts are already discussing potential downloadable content and new features. Since all courses in Mario Kart World are integrated into the game’s world map, it remains to be seen how Nintendo will incorporate additional tracks. Possible methods might involve offering them as separate Grand Prix events or expanding the map with new territories.
