More hidden clues about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie are being discovered, giving fans a better idea of what to expect. Recently, observant fans noticed Robert Downey Jr.’s Instagram post featured two characters who haven’t been officially announced as part of the cast, sparking a lot of speculation about their potential role in the film.
Dr. Doom recently presented an Easter basket filled with character-themed eggs, and two in particular have caught fans’ attention: eggs representing Dr. Strange and Spider-Man. These characters haven’t yet been officially announced as being in the upcoming Doomsday cast. The full lineup of eggs, from left to right, includes Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Namor, Black Panther, the New Avengers, Captain America, X-Men, Shang-Chi, Thor, the Fantastic Four, Loki, and Spider-Man.
It’s Not an Official Confirmation
Despite no official announcement, rumors are spreading quickly thanks to fan speculation. For example, one Instagram user claimed Robert Downey Jr. confirmed Spider-Man will appear in the movie. Beyond those rumors, several characters have been officially confirmed to return, even without having their own dedicated trailers. These include Sue Storm, Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, Ant-Man, John Walker, Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova, Beast, Sentry, Joaquin Torres, Namor, Johnny Storm, Red Guardian, Ghost, Loki, Nightcrawler, Mystique, Gambit, Reed Richards, and Doctor Doom.
Rumors are circulating that Brie Larson might reprise her role as Captain Marvel. Although Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything, Larson avoided directly answering a question about appearing in Doomsday, simply saying, “Oh, you know I can’t talk about that. Nice try.” This has led fans to believe she is involved, as there wouldn’t be a reason to stay silent if she wasn’t. Her role could be brief, like a scene after the credits, designed to hint at a bigger part in Secret Wars. Similar speculation surrounds Tessa Thompson and Valkyrie, as Thompson also gave an evasive answer when asked about her involvement in the movie.
