Fans waiting for the next season of Reacher have something new from star Alan Ritchson to enjoy right now! He’s teamed up with Kevin James (from King of Queens) in a new action comedy movie now available on Prime Video, showcasing his skills in a different kind of role.
Alan Ritchson’s new movie, Playdate, is now available on Prime Video. While fans of his serious role in Reacher might be surprised, Playdate is a comedic action film that showcases a different side of Ritchson’s talents – a side he honed earlier in his career, before becoming known for action roles. It’s packed with action, but leans much more into comedy.
Unfortunately, being a comedy isn’t the only thing setting Playdate apart from the Reacher series. While Reacher has consistently received positive reviews, Playdate hasn’t been so lucky. Early reviews are quite negative, with a score of only 17% on Rotten Tomatoes. Even audiences don’t seem to be enjoying it much, giving it a “rotten” fan rating of 54%.
This isn’t meant to discourage you from watching Playdate—it’s something everyone should try if it seems interesting. It’s just helpful to have realistic expectations first.
