Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known as Radio Silence, have created a remarkably successful string of films, especially in the horror genre. Their movies – Ready or Not, Scream, Scream VI, and Abigail – have all been excellent. Now, they’ve added Ready or Not 2: Here I Come to that list. Like the first Ready or Not, it’s a thrilling, action-packed, and delightfully gruesome experience, featuring another standout performance from Samara Weaving. While it delivers more of what fans loved before, it’s a wildly entertaining ride that’s absolutely worth revisiting.
The movie successfully builds on the world created in the first film, giving us a deeper look into the strange and rule-bound cult and their devotion to their leader. But what does the ending of Ready or Not 2 actually mean for viewers? Let’s break it down.
Spoilers follow for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
Where Does the Sequel End Up?

At the heart of this sequel is the complicated relationship between Grace MacCaullay (played by Hugo Weaving) and her sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton). Years ago, Grace left their foster home, deeply hurting Faith, who has held a grudge ever since. Their conflict and tension are constant throughout the film.
Faith and Grace need each other to get through this, and despite everything, they still care about each other. Faith goes to see Grace in the hospital and is shocked to find her in handcuffs, accused of killing the Le Domas family. Grace explains the unbelievable events that unfolded, and while Faith is skeptical at first, she quickly realizes her sister is telling the truth when an assassin attacks the hospital.
The assassin fails in their mission, and Grace and Faith are also effectively captured. They’re taken to the Danforth estate, where four families are competing for a powerful ring – and with it, global dominance.
Wan Chen Xing and her son, Wan Cheng Fu, were the first to be eliminated due to a rule preventing families from intentionally or accidentally harming members of other families. After Wan Chen Xing was fatally wounded in the throat by Ignacio El Caido (Néstor Carbonell, known from The Dark Knight), both she and her son were removed from the competition.
Before she passed away, the woman revealed a way to end the cruel game to Grace and Faith. If Grace made it through the night, she would inherit the ring. If someone from any of the four families killed her, they would get it instead. However, if Grace married her son, the game would be called off entirely. Wan Chen Xing would then gain control of the world, but Grace would be allowed to live.
The problem is, accepting would mean Grace would be making a deal with the devil – you can’t join a devil cult without a huge sacrifice. That’s why she turns down the offer. However, Xing is right to warn the sisters about how truly dangerous Titus Danforth (Shawn Hatosy) is.
Later in the story, during act three, Grace proposes a deal while Titus holds Faith at gunpoint. She offers him control of the world if he ends the game, ensuring both her and Faith’s survival. Grace would remain involved with the devil cult, but she’d be relieved that her sister is still alive.
Faith, being a good sister, desperately tries to talk Grace out of going through with the wedding right up until the vows. However, after marrying Titus, Grace shockingly stabs him multiple times in the neck. Then, Faith kicks his body into a pit meant for a sacrificial goat. Grace then asks the Lawyer who would lead the cult if no one wore the ring. The Lawyer simply replies that the demon, Mr. Le Bail, would be very angry.
As the leader of the cult, Grace unexpectedly announces her first act: she’s giving up her power. Their rulebook doesn’t cover anyone actually relinquishing control, so it’s unclear what happens next. The only rule is that whoever puts on a specific ring becomes the new leader – but they have to do it within three minutes, before sunrise. Grace throws the ring into a pit used for sacrifices, and the satanic wedding guests immediately begin fighting each other to get it. The chaotic struggle ends with the ring lost in a pile of dead animals. When dawn arrives, no one has claimed it. As a result, every member of the cult—except for the Lawyer—explodes, just like in the movie Ready or Not.
With the dangerous night finally over, the two characters promise to stay in each other’s lives, which is a relief to viewers who were worried Grace hadn’t made a deal with the devil. Things would have been much worse if the goat had been sacrificed, but thankfully, it’s still alive and walking alongside the sisters as they head into the sunrise.
