Looking for even more frightening experiences? Keep an eye on upcoming games slated for 2026 and later – there are some genuinely scary titles in development.
Reanimal signals the return of Tarsier Studios, creators of the Little Nightmares games. However, it’s significantly more frightening than its predecessors, potentially earning the title ‘Big Nightmares’.
But, as for when you actually play Reanimal and get scared silly, read on!
When is the Reanimal release date?
The Reanimal release date is Friday 13th February 2026.
It’s the perfect time to release a horror game! There aren’t many truly spooky dates throughout the year, so developers need to choose wisely.
Reanimal will be released on the 13th, giving players a two-week head start before Resident Evil Requiem launches later this month – a release that’s expected to be a big draw for horror fans.

Reanimal gameplay and story details
Reanimal is a scary, cooperative adventure game where a brother and sister team up to rescue their friends from a bizarre and unsettling world.
Tarsier Studios, who created Little Nightmares 1 and 2, also made this game, so fans of those titles will likely find it familiar.
If you don’t have a friend who’s willing to play Reanimal with you, you can enjoy it as a single-player experience.

Yes, there are a number of Reanimal trailers.
The second trailer is available above. It shows the two siblings facing difficult and dangerous challenges as they journey across a damaged world, traveling both on foot and by boat.
Okay, so if you’re like me and prefer to go into a new game knowing as little as possible, the trailer does reveal a bunch of the monsters you’ll face. Honestly, they still look super creepy, even knowing they’re coming. Spoilers or not, prepare to be scared!
