A new trailer for the upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, unexpectedly revealed the potential main villain just hours before The Game Awards.
It seems a recent leak has spoiled a major surprise for the game: the main villain is Lenny Kravitz, the famous singer and musician.
The trailer begins with James Bond in typical action-packed scenes. Around the 20-second mark, we first hear dialogue from Kravitz’s character. This trailer is no longer available online.
A moment later, the camera focuses on Kravitz’s character as he comes into view while speaking with the captured Bond.

The character’s name is Bawma. According to IGN, who shared a screenshot of a tweet, Bawma “rose from humble beginnings, gained his freedom, and created his own Kingdom of Aleph.”
Fortunately, fans saved a copy of the clip before it was deleted, and it’s available to view on ResetEra. Just so you know, it’s filmed vertically and is only a minute long.
Still, this should give us an idea of who Bond might end up fighting against in the upcoming game.
What Players Can Expect from the New Character Played by Lenny Kravitz
As of now, there’s really not much going on with regard to Bawma’s character information.
The only information we have is the minute-long video and his brief description mentioned above.
Okay, so everyone agrees this character is totally based on Lenny Kravitz, even though the game devs haven’t actually said it’s him yet. It’s pretty obvious, though!
In the clip, you’ll hear Bawma saying:
People often ask me how I seem to know everything that happens in the city, every little secret. My answer is always the same: I built this place with everything I have – my strength, my life, my very soul. This city is a part of me, like my own body. But today, something has gone terribly wrong – it’s become corrupted.
The scene concludes with one of Bawma’s assistants kicking a bystander into a crocodile-filled pit, as Bond is slowly lowered into the same dangerous spot.
Although the video appears to be genuine, we can’t confirm that Kravitz will play the primary antagonist in the game. He might just be one of several villains players encounter during the story.
With The Game Awards just hours away, a full trailer is likely to be revealed during the show.
The new James Bond game is attracting a fantastic cast of famous actors, and we’re excited to see how the gameplay comes together when it launches on March 27, 2026.
