Red Dead Redemption is now playable on PS5! If you already own the PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for free. Plus, it’s included as part of the PS Plus Extra subscription, so members can play it right away.
The game now runs at a smooth 60 frames per second on the PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, and this updated version also includes several improvements. Plus, you can carry over your saved progress from previous versions.
We’ve previously mentioned that a new set of trophies has been released, but they are the same as those from the PlayStation 4 version.
The Rockstar release is a relatively small download at just 9.730GB – especially for today’s games. If you’d rather not download it, you can also play it through cloud streaming with a PS Plus Premium subscription on either your PS5 console or PS Portal device.
It goes without saying Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest open world games ever made.
When we first reviewed this game on the PS3, we said it felt incredibly real – truly believable. And honestly, I can’t wait to jump back in and experience that all over again! It really stuck with me.
