Update [April 16, 2026, 10:30am]: After a retailer listing appeared yesterday, leaker BillBil-Kun from Dealabs has investigated the rumors of a physical release of Red Dead Redemption on PS5. Their research supports a May 7, 2026 release date for the boxed version on PS5, with a price of €34.99.
A listing on the website of Spanish retailer Wakkap suggests that a physical disc version of Red Dead Redemption for the PlayStation 5 will be available next month.
The website Portal Viciados spotted a listing for a physical copy of Red Dead Redemption on PS5, with a release date of May 7, 2026, and a price of €32.90 (around $38). However, Rockstar Games hasn’t officially announced a physical version for the PS5, and as of now, no other stores are listing it.
If a physical disc version is actually being made, the developer will likely announce it soon. Reports suggest this version will include both the main game and the Undead Nightmare expansion, similar to the digital version currently available on the PS Store.
When Red Dead Redemption came to the PS4, players could buy the digital version before the physical copy became available – it arrived a few months later. The digital version for PS5 launched in December, and if the physical version comes out next month, it will follow the same pattern.
The PlayStation 5 version of Red Dead Redemption is now available for digital download on the PlayStation Store, and is also part of the PS Plus Extra and GTA+ subscriptions. If you prefer a physical copy, it should be available for purchase in stores within the next few weeks.
