Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch in just over three months, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated games in the series. Many believe this will be the last main Resident Evil game, as it’s a return to the original Raccoon City setting for a final chapter. The slow release of information since the game was announced has made the wait feel especially long.
If you were hoping for a free demo of the new Resident Evil game, like the ones offered for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and the Resident Evil 4 remake, you likely won’t get one. Producer Masato Kumazawa recently told Stevivor that there are no current plans for a demo.
We don’t have any plans for a demo right now. We’re completely focused on finishing the game and making sure it’s the highest quality product possible. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience we can.
It’s understandable why Capcom would invest heavily in Resident Evil Requiem. The game quickly gained a lot of attention, surpassing one million wishlists shortly after it was announced. However, Capcom has surprised us with unexpected decisions before, as seen during Summer Game Fest, so it’s not a guarantee this is the full story.
The new Resident Evil game, Requiem, will be available on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. You can catch up on the story so far here, and we’ll share more details about the game in early 2026.
