Capcom unveiled a fresh trailer for their eagerly awaited survival horror game titled “Resident Evil Requiem.” This trailer, available to watch below, was displayed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, offering a clearer glimpse into what we might experience in the game’s narrative.
In the new trailer, we delve deeply into the past of our main character, Grace Ashcroft, revealing how her experiences have significantly influenced the wider Resident Evil universe. Additionally, the trailer includes a cameo from Grace’s mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, who was a key figure in the cooperative Resident Evil: Outbreak games.
Initially, everything appears ordinary as Grace continues her work on her computer. However, an enigmatic phone call and sudden power outage escalate the situation dramatically. Furthermore, snippets from the trailer hint at a comeback to the first-person viewpoint reminiscent of the two earlier Resident Evil films titled Requiem.
In the game, Grace and Alyssa are primarily focused on escaping from the building, but things take an unexpected turn when a resident is brutally murdered by a mysterious attacker. This incident provides insights into Grace’s character as she reacts to the bizarre occurrences. Simultaneously, Alyssa is struggling to help her daughter cope, while maintaining a strong front and hinting at personal experiences that she has had in the past. The trailer concludes with what appears to be Alyssa’s murder.
The game titled “Resident Evil Requiem” is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 27, 2026. You can find out more about Capcom’s description of Grace as the primary character in the Resident Evil series.
