With Capcom having a sale on Steam, it wasn’t surprising to see a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem during State of Play. While much of the footage had been shown in earlier previews, the trailer also revealed some new content. Most notably, it hints that Sherry Birkin is still alive and is actually the voice giving Leon guidance through his earpiece.
As the protagonist fights off infected creatures, a key line – “We’re running out of time” – reveals what viewers have likely guessed: Leon is infected. The investigation suggests the cause is Elpis, but it’s unclear how quickly he’ll succumb. Other important moments include Grace Ashcroft’s decision to join Leon, determined to face whatever comes without regrets, and Leon finally returning to the Raccoon Police Department headquarters, the place where his struggles first began.
The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, will be available on February 27th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s been optimized for the PlayStation 5 Pro, offering stunning visuals with ray tracing at 4K resolution and a smooth 60 frames per second. If you have a compatible monitor, you can even play at up to 120 FPS by turning off ray tracing. You can find more information about the game here.
