Just an update on Return to Silent Hill, the movie based on Konami’s Silent Hill 2: it’s still scheduled to come out in theaters this January. A new trailer has been released, and it confirms that the film is heavily inspired by the popular sequel game.
The movie includes all the memorable elements from the game, like the main characters James and Maria, plus recognizable enemies such as the Bobblehead Nurses and Pyramid Head. Key scenes, like James looking in the mirror and seeing the mysterious TV, are also present. The big question is: with Christophe Gans directing again, will the film surpass the original game? We’ll have to wait and see.
Fans can expect Return to Silent Hill in the United States on January 23, 2026. As for video games, rumors suggest Silent Hill: Townfall from Screen Burn may arrive in March 2026, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation yet. Konami is also working with Bloober Team to remake the original Silent Hill, though a release date hasn’t been announced.
