Sally Wainwright’s series, Riot Women, has proven popular with viewers, continuing to air on BBC One Sundays and now available to watch anytime on iPlayer.
I just finished watching this six-part series, and while it is about a group of women starting a punk band – and the music is great – what really hooked me was the characters themselves. It’s their stories that truly resonate and have everyone talking.
The BBC is currently discussing renewing the show for another season, and an official announcement is expected shortly.
The BBC is likely to commission a second season of the show, according to The Sun. A source told the publication that the series has really resonated with viewers, saying it’s one of those rare shows that truly captures the public’s attention.

Although the BBC hasn’t officially confirmed anything, the actors involved don’t think the last episode provides a satisfying conclusion to the show.
She explained that he’s clearly very angry. She believes the situation really belongs to Sally, and Sally would likely continue to explain it honestly. Everyone wants a simple resolution – like Nisha coming forward to confirm what happened, assuring everyone things will be okay, and Rudy being fired. But she questions if that’s how things actually work in real life.
We’ll have to wait and see if Riot Games creates more content focused on women, but we’re optimistic that they will!
