Oh, would you look at this – Ripple’s Senior Executive Officer, Reece Merrick, is having a “great week” in the Middle East and Africa. Apparently, Ripple’s got some serious momentum going on there. Who knew? 😏
So, here’s the deal: Ripple just hit a milestone in the Middle East with their USD (RLUSD) stablecoin getting a “greenlight” from Abu Dhabi’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA). They’re now an “Accepted Fiat-Referenced Token.” Big words, huh? Basically, this means RLUSD can be used as collateral on exchanges, lending platforms, and more. Very exciting stuff for the crypto nerds out there. 💰
Merrick, trying to sound all humble, mentioned that 2025 has been “awesome” for Ripple, especially in the Middle East. But don’t get too comfy – apparently, there’s more on the way in 2026. Are we supposed to be impressed? 😒
“Very busy” two weeks
Now, hold onto your hats – Reece Merrick teased a “very busy” two weeks coming up. Because, of course, when you’re a big shot in crypto, you don’t get to relax. He posted a tweet that basically says: “Hey, we’re busy, come watch us be busy at these cool events!” 🥱
Great week for team @Ripple in the Middle East & Africa! Lots of great momentum across the whole team 🚀
I am looking forward to a very busy two weeks with @binance Blockchain Week in Dubai next week and @ADFW the week after in Abu Dhabi
If you think we’re slowing down in the…

So, what’s coming up? Well, Ripple’s going to be at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai from Dec. 3-4. Yep, Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse will be on a panel talking about “the path ahead/moving forward.” That’s right, folks – a whole panel discussing where we’re headed. And guess what? They’ve got a few big names too – Solana Foundation’s Lily Liu and Binance’s CEO Richard Teng. Maybe something will actually get figured out? 🤷♂️
But wait, there’s more! Merrick himself will also be talking about “the next era of payment rails.” Translation: blockchain stuff is making payments faster, better, cooler. It’s not rocket science, but it sounds good when you say it out loud. 🤖
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more jam-packed, Ripple is off to the Fintech Abu Dhabi event from Dec. 8-11. Of course, they’ve also got their fingers in other pies, with events like the Blockchain for Europe Summit in Brussels (Dec. 2-3) and Ripple’s Christmas Breakfast in London (Dec. 11). Because nothing says “Happy Holidays” like crypto and breakfast, right? 🎄🥞
Oh, and let’s not forget the exciting anticipation of XRP ETFs launching soon. Expect a flurry of new products from 21Shares, CoinShares, and WisdomTree. Oh, and don’t even get me started on CME Group’s new Spot-Quoted XRP futures. What a time to be alive. 😏
