Rob Liefeld, the famous comic book creator, is back with a new issue of his iconic series, Youngblood. The first issue of Youngblood (2025), which arrives in stores on November 12th, has already sold out almost everywhere and is getting reprinted! It’s been over twenty years since Liefeld last worked on the series, and fans are clearly excited to see its return. If you want to snag a first edition copy, head to your local comic shop quickly. Don’t worry if you miss out, though – a second printing is coming soon!
The alternate cover for this issue is a treat for fans of Rob Liefeld’s work, referencing his iconic New Mutants #98 cover – the first appearance of Deadpool, Domino, and Gideon. Just like that classic ’90s Marvel cover introduced new heroes, this Youngblood cover introduces Vandel, Xerxes, and Plsymx. Existing Die-Hard team members – Shaft, Vogue, and Badrock – react with surprise. Anyone familiar with Liefeld’s signature style and memorable covers will want to add this one to their collection.
Youngblood Has New Life Breathed Into It

When Youngblood first appeared in 1987, it was groundbreaking for portraying superheroes as celebrities and brands, long before The Boys explored similar ideas. Recent attempts to bring the series back haven’t been successful, but the newest version, led by creator Liefeld, is a huge hit. Demand is so high that a second printing is already planned, and the sheer number of cover variations is astounding. The first issue boasts an incredible 27 covers exclusive to different retailers, 30 team-up covers, and numerous incentive covers.

Liefeld expressed his gratitude, thanking fans of Youngblood for their incredible support. He also thanked all the retailers who believed in the project, especially comic book stores, which he called the foundation of the industry. He extended thanks to everyone at Image Comics for their help and encouragement, and encouraged readers to enjoy the comic, marking the beginning of the journey toward Youngblood #100.
The first issue of Youngblood from 1992 remains a hugely popular comic, selling over a million copies. It helped launch Image Comics as a major publisher, and now the creators and fans are excited to introduce Youngblood to a new generation with this explosive new series.
As a comic book fan, I’m excited to share that the first printing of Youngblood #1 hits shelves this Wednesday, November 12th! If you miss out, don’t worry – a second printing and a really cool oversized Treasury Edition (Youngblood (2025) #1, measuring 8.5” x 13.5”) will be coming out on Wednesday, December 17th. It’s going to be a great time for Youngblood fans!
