Robert Pattinson Starts Work on the Batman: Part II Next Week

Robert Pattinson is preparing to reprise his role as Batman, with filming for The Batman: Part II scheduled to begin next week.

Robert Pattinson is currently promoting his new movie, The Drama, a romantic comedy he stars in with Zendaya, before its release this Friday. He recently told the French TV show C à vous that he plans to start filming The Batman: Part II within the next week.

Why Has The Batman Part II Taken So Long?

After The Batman did well in theaters in 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures immediately approved a second movie. Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves are both back for the sequel, and Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell will reprise their roles.

Unlike most big-budget sequels that come out quickly to build on the success of the first movie, The Batman: Part II has been in development for five years and is now scheduled for release on October 1, 2027. This delay is partly because of the Hollywood strikes that took place in 2023.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about why it’s taking so long to get the next Batman movie made. Some people think Matt Reeves, who’s writing the script himself, took a while to finish it – I understand he only submitted it last year! Others wonder if the changes at DC, with James Gunn and Peter Safran now in charge and planning their own DC Universe with a different Batman, caused some delays. But honestly, none of that has ever been confirmed, it’s all just speculation as far as I know.

The Batman: Part II is now moving forward with production and is expected to be released soon. Filming will begin in late May at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, with additional scenes shot in Liverpool and Glasgow. This means Robert Pattinson will probably start preparing for the film next week.
