Rose Byrne Makes a Quick Change at Oscars Party With Bobby Cannavale

Rose Byrne is kicking up her legs after the Oscars 2026.

The star of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, who received a Best Actress nomination on March 15th alongside Emma Stone (Bugonia), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), and Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), made the awards night a date with Bobby Cannavale.

The 46-year-old actress wore a floral Dior gown without straps as she and Bobby arrived at the award show, hosted by Conan O’Brien, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

After the show ended, she quickly changed into a chic outfit – a black, fringed two-piece set – and continued the celebration at the Vanity Fair after-party with Bobby.

This marked Rose’s first-ever Academy Award nomination. She had recently won a Golden Globe for her role as Linda – a tired therapist juggling the demands of a new baby – in a musical or comedy film.

She expressed her surprise in her acceptance speech, saying, “Thank you for believing in me and giving me this chance.”

You know, when it comes to awards shows, I always say, don’t get your hopes up! That’s certainly how Rose felt – she honestly didn’t expect to win, so she was totally okay with her partner, Bobby, going to a reptile convention instead. And get this – he took their sons, Rocco, who’s nine, and Rafael, who’s eight, and they actually got a new lizard! It just shows you, life happens, even when you’re potentially accepting an award.

She explained he was missing because they were getting a bearded dragon, and he’d gone to a reptile show in New Jersey. She added playfully, “Thanks, honey.”

Bobby jokingly said that Rose, whom he began dating around 2012, had “ruined my life” with her announcement.

The actor recently shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that his family’s pet is named Benny. He explained that they chose the name because his son is a big fan of singer Benson Boone.

She explained his absence with a playful tone: he was at a reptile show in New Jersey getting a bearded dragon. ‘Thanks, honey,’ she added.
