Rosie O’Donnell is focusing on her daughter.
The talk show host asked her fans to keep her daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, in their thoughts and prayers as she deals with some legal issues.
Rosie shared a touching photo of her daughter, Chelsea, on Instagram, remembering a happier time “before addiction took over her life.” She expressed her continued love for Chelsea as she navigates a difficult and uncertain future, and asked for prayers.
Rosie is speaking out just after Chelsea’s probation was revoked and she was sent to prison on October 22nd, according to court records obtained by TopMob News from Marinette County, Wisconsin.
Rosie, who has raised Chelsea since birth with her former partner Kelli Carpenter, knows her daughter has been going through a difficult period.
The 63-year-old expressed sympathy for people battling addiction, explaining that Chelsea, who was raised in an environment with substance abuse, has faced a difficult life, as have her four young children, according to a statement released to TopMob News on October 29th.
She added, “We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.”
I’ve been following Chelsea’s case closely, and it’s been really troubling. It all started back in September 2024 when she was first arrested. The charges were serious – neglecting a child, running a place for drug trafficking, and possessing methamphetamine. Then, just a month later, she was arrested again, this time up in Oconto County, Wisconsin. This time, she faced even more felony charges, including possessing methamphetamine and other narcotics, plus bail jumping. They also added some misdemeanor charges like having drug paraphernalia and resisting the police when they tried to take her in. It’s a really difficult situation, and I’m hoping she gets the help she needs.

In November 2024, Chelsea, a mother of four, was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including possessing methamphetamine and other narcotics, as well as violating her bail conditions, according to reports from TopMob News.
Court records show Chelsea pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine, resisting a police officer, and violating her bail conditions. She was initially sentenced to a year in jail. She participated in a drug treatment program, but was removed in September. A condition of her original probation was that she remain completely sober.
After Chelsea’s third arrest, Rosie—mother to Parker, 30, Blake, 25, Vivienne, 22 (with Kelly), and Clay, 12 (with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds)—confirmed the news on Instagram in December 2024. She explained that Chelsea had been arrested again, after being bailed out by her birth mother, and is now facing multiple charges related to her drug addiction.

She added at the time, “We all hope she is able to get the help she needs to turn her life around.”
Chelsea is facing some legal issues while Rosie has recently moved to Ireland and is thrilled with her new life there.
In an April interview with Us Weekly, O’Donnell explained that they decided on Ireland as a destination without a specific plan. Someone suggested Dalkey, and she then found a rental house online located in Glengarry.
Oh my gosh, she gets it! She totally gets it about the town! She said it’s right in the middle of Dublin, but it still feels like a tiny village where everyone knows everyone – like, you actually know the people at the shops by name! And she said the people are just unbelievably kind, and it honestly shocks her every single day! It’s everything I love about it too, honestly. It’s just… perfect.
