Rumour: Suspicions of Persona 1 and 2 Remasters Grow Stronger as Soundtrack Reappears

Rumors are growing that Atlus might be planning to remake or re-release the original Persona and Persona 2 games, and many fans believe it’s likely to happen.

A few weeks ago, fans of the Persona series noticed some new merchandise appearing, and it seemed to heavily feature the very first two games.

New merchandise for Persona 1 and 2 is available on Amazon with unique names – ‘Origins’ for Persona 1 and ‘Duality’ for Persona 2. Fans speculate these names might suggest upcoming remasters of the games.

Atlus has recently made the official soundtrack for Persona 1 available online again. While not as big of a deal as the new merchandise, this re-release has still gotten fans talking.

A preview of the soundtrack has been put back on the developer’s YouTube channel. Atlus explained the re-upload was due to technical issues with the original video, but it happened right after the soundtrack became available on streaming platforms like Spotify.

Honestly, there probably isn’t much to this, but the timing is what’s getting people talking. Releasing Persona 1 merchandise and a re-released soundtrack so close together naturally leads to speculation.

As a reminder, this year is the 30th anniversary of the Persona series, and Atlus has announced they’ll be sharing several updates about it.

Are the rumors about remastered versions of the game actually true? Let us know what you think, and share your favorite Persona 1 music in the comments!
