Here is an overview of the game, via Marvelous USA:

About

The Celestial Collapse was a terrible disaster. A massive object struck the eastern lands of Azuma, shattering the ground and sending pieces of earth flying into the sky and sea. This impact broke the connection to the ancient runes, cutting off their power. Soon after, the gods of nature disappeared. Mountains fell, crops died, and the people were left with nothing, not even a glimmer of hope.

You jolt awake, shaken from a dream about dragons fighting. You’re not sure what it meant or how it started, but a voice echoes in your mind.

“Accept the power of an Earth Dancer. Use this power to save the land.”

Fans of the Rune Factory series will enjoy the familiar blend of action-RPG combat and life-simulation elements in Guardians of Azuma. This new game is set in the previously unexplored eastern country of Azuma, where you play as an Earth Dancer, battling a spreading corruption and working to restore hope to a land that was once thriving.

I’m so excited about this game! You get to pick one of two main characters, and their stories are connected by some really cool, mysterious stuff. The goal is to fight back against this evil force called the Blight using powerful, ancient treasures, and basically save everyone – even the gods! But it’s not just about fighting. You actually rebuild villages and manage resources, making friends and allies as you go. The world is based on traditional Japanese culture, with beautiful seasonal changes and festivals, and there are even characters you can romance! It feels like a really immersive experience, and I can’t wait to jump in and see what happens. It’s all about embracing your destiny and starting a new adventure!

Key Features

  • Bold New Abilities and Weapons – As an Earth Dancer, use the power of dance, sacred treasures, and fresh weapons like the Bow and Talisman to purify the land, your farms, and undo the Blight’s damage.
  • Your Fantasy Japanese Life – Experience beautiful Japanese-inspired character designs and aesthetics—from festivals to events to monsters. Explore Azuma’s natural landscapes and its seasonal-themed locales steeped in tradition.
  • It Takes a Village – Don’t just mind the farm—rebuild entire villages! Construct and place buildings, enticing people to return to the villages and contribute. Revive the gods to bring vitality and valuable resources back to the plagued lands.
