Ryan Seacrest Questions If Engagement Rings Are “Worth It”

Ryan Seacrest might never put a ring on it.

The host of American Idol recently wondered if engagement rings are still as significant as they used to be, suggesting that couples might be better off using that money for other important things.

I’ve been hearing a lot of couples questioning whether a huge engagement ring is really necessary these days. Ryan Seacrest was talking about it on his show recently, and said the average cost in the US is around $10,000! It really makes you think – what amazing experiences could you and your partner share with that money instead?

I’ve been thinking a lot about relationships lately, especially after hearing about a recent split. It really got me pondering – how much weight do we actually place on that engagement ring? Is it truly a symbol of commitment, or is it something else entirely? It’s a question I think a lot of us can relate to.

He also pointed out that more couples are now considering the cost of engagement rings. Co-host Sisanie Villaclara added that historically, engagement rings were much simpler bands, unlike the large, elaborate rings common today.

Ryan believes it’s smarter to spend money on experiences like travel or a house instead of an expensive engagement ring. He’s already thinking about doing this when he eventually proposes.

I believe that when I meet the right person, we’ll share experiences and focus on creating a strong connection by doing things together.

Although Ryan hasn’t proposed yet, the Wheel of Fortune host—who has dated Julianne Hough and Shayna Taylor in the past—recently revealed he came close to proposing marriage.

He admitted to almost getting married, but ultimately decided against it. He explained to Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Ryan in May 2017 that while it would have been a logical step, he still values the idea of marriage itself.

As for why he was waiting on getting married?

He described a situation he didn’t want to mess up, noting that these things often go wrong. He jokingly added that the longer he delayed, the older and closer to the end of his life he’d become, increasing the pressure to get it right.

Ryan may not be a fan of engagement rings, but let’s take a look at some stunning rings worn by other celebrities.

Jewelry expert Lauren McCawley told TopMob News that Sabrina’s engagement ring is stunning, with a pear-shaped center stone surrounded by a halo and smaller round and baguette-cut diamonds.
