Sabrina Carpenter surprised the Coachella crowd during her headlining set on April 17th by bringing out Madonna, the singer famous for hits like “Like a Virgin.”
During Sabrina’s performance of her 2024 song “Juno,” Madonna unexpectedly joined her on stage. As Sabrina, wearing a sparkly outfit with a white, wing-like cape and heels, sang the line, “Have you ever tried this one,” the music transitioned into Madonna’s classic 1990 song “Vogue.”
A video posted on X on April 18th shows a 67-year-old woman receiving cheers from the crowd as she walked on stage wearing a purple mini dress with a corset, matching gloves, and heeled boots.
Madonna completed her festival outfit with a leather jacket, purple thigh-high stockings, and a pair of protective glasses.
Their incredible performance didn’t stop there! The duo thrilled fans even more by performing Madonna’s “Like A Prayer” and a brand new, unreleased song from her upcoming album, Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II.
After her surprising performance, the singer, known as the “Material Girl,” expressed her gratitude to the former Disney star for inviting her on stage.
During her appearance on the show, Madonna thanked host Sabrina for the invitation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sabrina playfully responded, “You’re welcome, Madonna. Feel free to ask for anything.”
Looking back at her 2006 performance at the music festival, Madonna shared how amazing it felt to command the stage once more.
She began by saying she had something she wanted to share. Twenty years ago today, she performed at Coachella, debuting Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part I in the dance tent for the first time in America. She described it as an incredibly exciting experience.
It’s incredibly exciting for me to be revisiting this after 20 years, wearing the same outfit – even the same jacket I wore earlier – it feels like everything has come full circle, and it’s a really special moment.
Another “thrill” was getting to perform alongside a fellow short n’ sweet musician.
She playfully mentioned that this was likely the first time she’d ever performed with someone shorter than herself, and thanked the performer for the unique experience.
And Sabrina was happy to oblige. As she replied, “Amen!”
