Sadie Sink is famous for playing Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, but she’s also becoming known for her roles in scary movies. Even just her work on Stranger Things could earn her the title of “scream queen,” particularly after her powerful performance in season 4 facing off against the villain Vecna.
The talented actor has been successfully branching out into different types of roles, including the musical O’Dessa and the moving drama The Whale. She consistently delivers strong performances across all genres, but she truly stands out in horror and thriller films, demonstrating her particular skill in those areas.
Sadie Sink Was Fantastic In The Fear Street Trilogy
Besides her famous role in Stranger Things, Sadie Sink is also well-known for Fear Street. This Netflix original movie series, inspired by R.L. Stine’s books, was released in three parts over three weeks. The first movie is a horror-slasher set in 1994.
Sadie Sink joined the cast in the sequel, a story about a new series of murders at a summer camp in 1978. She plays a young Ziggy Berman, while Gillian Jacobs portrays the older version who is telling the story of the attacks. Many critics especially praised Sink’s acting in the film.
The third installment of the Fear Street series, Fear Street: 1666, once again showcases Sadie Sink’s talent. This time, the story jumps back in time to the 17th century and leans more into witchcraft than traditional slasher horror. Sink skillfully plays both Ziggy and Constance, bringing a satisfying conclusion to a surprisingly overlooked horror trilogy.
Eli & A Sacrifice Are Underrated Movies In Sadie Sink’s Filmography
Sadie Sink has starred in a couple of other horror films that showcase her skills in the genre. One is the 2019 movie Eli, which tells the story of a boy sent to a special clinic where he begins experiencing frightening, supernatural events. Sink plays Haley, a girl who helps him while they’re both at the haunted hospital.
Although Sink isn’t the main character, she plays a ‘final girl’ type of role in this movie. This experience probably helped her prepare for her bigger role in Stranger Things season 4, where she was essentially the final girl fighting Vecna.
The movie A Sacrifice leans more towards thriller than outright horror, though it still has some genuinely frightening moments. Actress Sadie Sink stars as Mazzy, a troubled teenager who gets caught up in a dangerous situation when her father begins looking into a local cult.
Okay, so neither of these movies were huge hits with the critics, but I have to say, Sadie Sink is fantastic in both! She totally has that ‘final girl’ potential, you know, the makings of a classic scream queen. But what’s really cool is she’s not limited to just horror – she’s a genuinely talented actress who I think will be amazing in all sorts of roles.
