Sara Foster is sharing an update on her daughter’s health.
90210 actress opened up about her ex-partner Tommy Haas’ elder daughter, Valentina (age 14), who was recently diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. She also mentioned the items that have been beneficial for Valentina’s treatment.
Sara, who is Josephine’s mother and a former tennis player, mentioned on the July 31 episode of her podcast, “The World’s First Podcast” with her sister Erin Foster, that her 14-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. She added that someone suggested to her, after addressing all medical matters, that she should get a red-light sleeping bag from Bond Charge. This item is said to reduce inflammation and also puts one in a calm state.
Apart from this, they’re also eager to share another useful piece of advice. Earlier, Sara and Erin enthusiastically shared a beauty secret they learned from their mother, Rebecca Dyer, who happens to be music producer David Foster’s daughter.
In an interview with TopMob News in May, Sara emphasized the importance of treating your chest and neck the same as your face. She suggested that if you start this practice early on, it will significantly improve your overall results.
In simple terms, Erin shared that she prefers to wholeheartedly accept the natural process of aging and take good care of herself to maintain her health. She suggested that a solid beauty strategy includes eating nutritious food, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and this is the most effective way to enhance one’s appearance.
Sara confessed that she hadn’t given her mom’s skincare advice the attention it deserved when she was young, a situation which Valentina may well find familiar.
During the podcast, she expressed, “In my twenties, I thought, ‘I don’t want to turn out like my mom.’ Similarly, I believe Valentina feels the same way, as she has told me directly that she doesn’t want to resemble me.
To put it simply, it’s often noted that Valentina spends so much time independently that it occasionally makes the Favorite Daughter co-founder, who is one of David’s six children, wish they had more siblings in their family.
Reflecting on my current situation, she mused, ‘I sometimes wish I had more children, perhaps four.’ She emphasized the importance of family, expressing a momentary sentiment, ‘If only I had more than just two kids.”
It’s fortunate that Sara and Erin belong to an extensive family lineage. Learn more about their family by continuing to read.
David Foster carries several roles, such as musician, composer, and producer. Yet, to his six kids, he’s simply their Dad. As a Grammy winner who became a dad at 71 with Rennie, David shared his joy about fatherhood with People in 2022, stating that he now has more time, which allows him to appreciate his children equally.
David is married to Katharine McPhee, making this his fifth marriage. In his 2019 documentary, David Foster: Off the Record, the songwriter reflected on past relationships and admitted to being a “runner” in the past. He described himself as someone who was easily attracted to new things, feeling that existing relationships looked less appealing when compared to something fresh.
However, regarding his relationship with Katharine, David reportedly stated in the documentary that he is content and happy where he currently stands.
David was raised in a large household, boasting six sisters. One of these sisters is Jaymes Foster, who welcomed son Parker with friend Clay Aiken in 2008. While Clay Aiken previously mentioned that Parker often sang extensively, he pointed out that Parker has opted for a different career direction. However, if Parker ever considers delving into the music industry, he can certainly seek advice from his well-known family members.
“My son possesses not only musical talent but also ‘Idol’ DNA,” Clay added. “His uncle is David Foster, the producer, and his aunt is Katharine McPhee.
David’s oldest daughter, Allison Jones, was born when he was 20 years old and was placed for adoption. However, they reconnected when she became an adult. Currently, Allison serves as the Director at The David Foster Foundation. Her biography mentions that she holds an MBA from McMaster University and resides in Edmonton, Alberta with her spouse Brent, and their two kids.
David’s first wife was B.J. Cook, whom he played music with in bands like The Hawks and Skylark. They got married in 1972, making him a stepfather to Tamre Winger. The next year, they had a daughter named Amy S. Foster together. Unfortunately, they divorced in 1981, but in 2023, they reconnected when they both received a star on the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame StarWalk.
Amy S. Foster, whose surname derives from their band Skylark, shares the same profession as her parents – she is a musician. Notably, she has penned songs for various artists such as Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, and Destiny’s Child.
Growing up in Toronto, Amy found it difficult to be away from her father David, but their relationship improved significantly over time. In 2020, Amy expressed to People that her bond with her dad is exceptional now, stating, “The relationship I have with my dad is amazing now. He’s not rigid or unyielding; he’s open to change and growth every day, and I admire that.”
When a social media user accused David of neglecting his older children, Amy swiftly clarified there was no abandonment involved. Besides being a songwriter, Amy is an author, the creator of a yarn label, and a mother to three children: Eva and Mikaela from her previous marriage to Simon Gillies, as well as Vaughn, whom she had with husband Matthew Freeman.
In 1982, David married Rebecca Dyer, and they went on to have three daughters named Sara Foster, Erin Foster, and Jordan Foster. These women have shared their heartfelt connections with their mother.
In a birthday tribute penned in 2021, Erin acknowledged that it wasn’t until she grew up that she truly understood the impact her mom had on her life. During her twenties, Erin disregarded her mother’s advice, often rushing her off the phone and essentially asking her to live her own life. However, every year of her thirties has seen an increased need for her mom’s guidance.
The marriage between Rebecca and David ended in 1986, after which he wed Linda Thompson.
Sara, born in 1981, is the eldest child of David and Rebecca, with her younger sister Erin being her sibling. They share many experiences together, such as acting in the TV show Barely Famous (2015-2016), hosting the podcast The World’s First Podcast, co-founding apparel brand Favorite Daughter and venture capital firm Oversubscribed Ventures. Sara has also served as an executive producer for Erin’s Netflix rom-com Nobody Wants This.
Earlier in her career, Sara made appearances on the spin-off series 90210, as well as movies like D.E.B.S., Demoted, and The Big Bounce.
Sara is a mother to daughters Valentina and Josephine with tennis player Tommy Haas. Although Sara confirmed in November 2024 that she and Tommy have separated, Erin emphasized that he remains a significant figure in their family.
Erin expressed on Jeff Lewis Live that Tommy is a fantastic individual. She went on to say he’s an exceptional father. They were even having dinner with her husband and another brother-in-law, Tom, which suggests that Tommy has become a permanent part of their family.
Erin was born 18 months after Sara in the year 1982. She is known for co-creating “Nobody Wants This,” founding “The World’s First Podcast” and Oversubscribed Ventures alongside Sara, and starring in several productions such as “Daddy Issues,” “Circle,” and “Tell Me You Love Me.” The former “Barely Famous” cast member also has some acting experience. In May 2024, Erin gave birth to a daughter named Noa Mimi Tikhman with her husband, Simon Tikhman.
Born in 1985, Jordan is involved with the family business as Style Director for Favorite Daughter. She’s not just a part of it, she’s a stylist who has collaborated with celebrities such as Ashley Graham, Aly Raisman, and Lily Aldridge. In her personal life, she is a loving mother to Otto and Juni alongside her husband Tom Woodger.
Linda has been involved with several well-known romantic partners throughout her life.
In the 1970s, she had a relationship with Elvis Presley, who was then known as Miss Tennessee. Later, in 1981, she got married to Caitlyn Jenner, who later came out as transgender in 2015. Their divorce was finalized in 1986.
At the time of their marriage, Caitlyn already had children from a previous relationship – Burt Jenner and Cassandra Marino with Chrystie Scott. During their marriage, Linda gave birth to Brandon Jenner and Brody Jenner. After the divorce, Caitlyn remarried Kris Jenner in 1991, becoming a stepparent to Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian, from Kris’s previous marriage to Robert Kardashian. Before the split in 2013, Caitlyn and Kris had daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
According to Linda’s book “A Little Thing Called Life,” she met David in 1985 following her separation from Caitlyn, and they continued to socialize in 1986, which is when he reportedly confessed his feelings for her and announced the end of his relationship with Rebecca.
The Hee Haw alum wrote that she felt deeply connected to David due to their long history together, but she was not proud of how their initial union came about, nor was she ashamed anymore. She has learned to accept herself and forgive herself, which she believes is a step towards healing.
Linda and David tied the knot in 1991 and collaborated on Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” for The Bodyguard. Their marriage ended in 2005.
Brandon, the eldest son of Linda and Caitlyn, had David step into their family’s life when he was a young child. In a 2021 YouTube video with Linda, Brandon described David as a consistent presence in their childhood, highly career-oriented yet passionate about his work, which often kept him busy.
Brandon, Brody, Linda, and David were all part of the 2005 reality TV series “The Princes of Malibu,” along with Brody’s co-star from “The Hills,” Spencer Pratt. Despite Linda and David’s divorce that same year, it seems they have maintained a good relationship, as evidenced by David attending Brandon’s 2016 record release party for “Burning Ground” and expressing support for his 2024 song “The Feels” on Instagram.
Brandon is currently married to Cayley Jenner, with whom he has twins Bo and Sam, as well as daughter Joan. He also shares a daughter named Eva with his former wife, Leah James.
Brody, who is Linda’s youngest child with Caitlyn, has been seen on various television screens multiple times due to his reality star status. Besides featuring in “The Princes of Malibu,” he also appeared on “The Hills,” its revival “The Hills: New Beginnings,” and “Bromance.” Additionally, he made guest appearances on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Much like his brother Brandon, Brody seems to have maintained a relationship with David. In July 2024, Brody shared a video of his daughter Honey, and David left a comment, expressing how adorable she is: “She is sooo darn cute!!!”
Sara and Erin have spoken about their experiences watching David take on the role of stepfather to Brody and Brandon.
In a 2019 episode of Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’s podcast, Sibling Revelry, Sara stated that while their father was present, he wasn’t raising them specifically; instead, he was taking care of Brandon and Brody. David has acknowledged that he missed out on a significant part of his children’s lives due to geographical challenges and work commitments. However, he did the best he could under the circumstances, despite imperfections. Erin mentioned that after some open conversations, they’ve managed to improve their relationship and are now focusing on being like any other family, having forgiven each other for past conflicts.
The story of how David and Yolanda Hadid became a couple seems to have been facilitated by Yolanda’s ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid. As the real estate developer who shares children Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Anwar Hadid with Yolanda (formerly of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”), Mohamed claimed credit for the introduction in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2017, praising David as a wonderful stepfather to his daughters.
David and Yolanda tied the knot in 2011, with their relationship playing out on Bravo. However, after four years of marriage, they decided to part ways, finalizing their divorce in 2017.
Yolanda, now engaged to Joseph Jingoli, has hinted that her Lyme disease may have contributed to the strains in her marriage with David. In her book “Believe Me: My Battle With the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease,” she wrote, “He lost his wingman, his partner in crime, and I feel as if he’s starting to get impatient with my recovery.”
However, David has maintained that his wife’s condition was not the cause of their separation. In 2015, he stated that he stood by Yolanda “to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis.” He also declined to discuss the reasons for their split in an interview for “David Foster: Off the Record.”
“The truth is that was not the reason I left,” David said. “It was for a different reason, which I will never reveal, but it had nothing to do with her being sick.
While married to Yolanda, David took on the role of stepfather to their children, Gigi, Bella, and Anwar. It appears that Gigi continues to maintain a relationship with David’s daughter, Erin.
The creator of Nobody Wants This mentioned during a September 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that Gigi had messaged him the previous night, indicating she was now watching the show. “The parents get divorced, but the kids don’t,” he explained.
Regarding Erin’s current relationship with Yolanda, she stated, “I don’t communicate as much with Yolanda as I do with the children because the parents have gone their separate ways.”
Gigi is not only a prominent figure on the runway but also the founder of cashmere knitwear brand Guest in Residence. She is a mother to daughter Khai, whom she shares with her ex and former One Direction member Zayn Malik. Recently, Gigi has been romantically linked to Bradley Cooper.
David has enjoyed friendly interactions with Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, even after his separation from Yolanda. For instance, he was seen cheering them on at a 2016 fashion show, affectionately captioning a picture of their kiss on the cheek as “Step-Love.” The siblings also shared an embrace when they crossed paths at the 2018 Met Gala, where David and Katharine made their first red carpet appearance together.
Bella, who has openly discussed her struggle with Lyme disease, is not only a model but also manages her non-alcoholic beverage company Kin Euphorics and fragrance brand Orebella. She is in a relationship with Adan Banuelos.
Anwar is the younger sibling of Gigi and Bella, both well-known figures in modeling. Like his sisters, he’s made a significant impact on the fashion industry. Apart from modeling, Anwar is also a musician, part of the band Oswald, and a co-founder of the jewelry brand Martyre. Previously, he was in a two-year relationship with Dua Lipa, but they parted ways in 2021. Since then, speculations about his romantic life emerged when he was linked to Sophia Piccirilli, two years after their split.
Katharine and David’s romantic journey began on an amicable note. We go way back to 2006 when Katharine was a contestant on American Idol, and David was one of the show’s mentors.
Fast forward eleven years, their paths crossed again after my dear friend Katharine’s divorce from Nick Cokas and David’s separation from Yolanda. Rumors about them started swirling around, but they kept a low profile regarding the dating speculation. However, in 2018, the SMASH! actress and the music arranger announced their engagement to everyone’s delight.
Katharine and David exchanged vows in London in 2019 and welcomed their son Rennie two years later. They are unfazed by people’s opinions about their significant age difference of 34 years.
In 2023, Katharine shared her thoughts on Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast, expressing that she understands the initial skepticism but emphasized that appearances can be deceiving in relationships. She went on to say that she is deeply in love with their unique love story and that it is the only narrative that truly matters to her.
In February 2021, David and Katharine became parents to their son Rennie. His early drumming abilities suggest that he may have inherited his parents’ musical talent.
David titled a video of Rennie playing the drums at age two as “Progress,” hinting that it might be time for some lessons.
Although Rennie has accompanied his parents on their tours, Katharine appreciates the simple moments they share at home the most. In an interview with TopMob News in 2023, she expressed her joy over ordinary activities like picking up Rennie from school, finding such moments exciting because he greets her with, “You’re back! You’re back!” and his happiness makes her cherish these times, knowing they won’t last forever.
