Warning! SPOILERS For And Just Like That Season 3, Episode 6, “Silent Mode”
In the revival series of “Sex and the City,” a heartbreaking demise spawned one of the fresh characters’ most affecting tales. As Sarah Jessica Parker returned to her timeless role of Carrie Bradshaw in the revival, an array of new personalities joined the cast of “And Just Like That,” including original stars Kristin Davis portraying Charlotte and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda.
In the upcoming season 3 of And Just Like That, just two of the four new characters, Che Diaz (Sarah Ramirez) and Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman), will not be returning. This departure has created more opportunities for other characters like Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wesley (Nicole Ari Parker) to take center stage, with “Silent Mode” providing Lisa an exceptional storyline.
And Just Like That Season 3 Needed Its Sad Death For Lisa Todd Wexley’s Story
The “Silent Mode” Story Evolved AJLT’s LTW
In the sixth episode of season 3 from the series And Just Like That, Lisa Todd Wesley experiences a heart-wrenching moment as her father, Lawrence (portrayed by Billy Dee Williams), passes away. This tragic event brings Nicole Ari Parker’s character into sharp focus in the episode titled “Silent Mode.” After setting her phone to silent mode to work on her PBS documentary, Lisa unknowingly misses a call from her husband informing her about her father’s stroke. Consequently, she regrets not having the chance to bid farewell to him.
In a turn of events, Lawrence’s destiny triggers a struggle between Lisa and her theater companion, Lucille Highwater (played by Jenifer Lewis). Lucille is arranging a ceremony honoring Lisa’s father, with songs from the musical “Pippin” included. During her three-minute eulogy, LTW openly admits that her father was consistently there for others but, regrettably, she wasn’t there for him in his final moments. This moment is deeply moving for Lisa, making her character more profound and poignant.
After the ceremony, Herbert’s (Christopher Jackson) mother, Eunice (Pat Bowie), eventually warms up to her daughter-in-law and offers words of solace about missing her husband’s passing. This tender moment strengthened Lisa’s relationships beyond the main cast, providing her with a more secure position in the show. In essence, it was a poignant scene that added depth to Lisa’s character, which proved beneficial for Parker.
And Just Like That Season 3’s Death Prompted The Revival Show‘s Best Moment
Two Main Characters Grow In “Silent Mode”
York Goldenblatt becomes the recipient of Lisa’s initial conversation about her father’s demise. Throughout this poignant moment, Charlotte, ever the caring confidante, offers unwavering support. This incident serves as a reflection point for Harry (Evan Handler)’s spouse, illuminating the delicate nature of her situation.
Charlotte earnestly asked Harry to be there with her in every instance. Although Harry showed some understanding, York’s fragility resulted in one of her most powerful narratives. Known for maintaining composure, Charlotte crumbles when she encounters Carrie at Walgreens, revealing Harry’s cancer diagnosis, marking a highly emotional moment in ‘And Just Like That’ thus far.
