Saturday Night Live UK has announced the first group of celebrities and musicians who will appear in the upcoming season, generating a lot of excitement.
The festival begins on Saturday, March 21st with a performance by Tina Fey, best known for her work as a writer and performer on the American version of a popular comedy show, and indie band Wet Leg, hailing from the Isle of Wight.
Next Saturday, March 28th, features a performance by the popular actor Jamie Dornan, with music from the award-winning band Wolf Alice. Then, on April 4th, actor Riz Ahmed will host an evening with the rock band Kasabian.
Every Saturday night at 10pm, a new host will join the regular cast of the show, live from London. The cast includes Celeste Dring (known from ‘This Country’), Hammed Animashaun (‘Black Ops’), Larry Dean (‘Live at the Apollo’), George Fouracres (‘Steve’), Jack Shep (‘Big Boys’), Ayoade Bamgboye (‘Rise and Shine with Channel 9’), Al Nash (‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’), Paddy Young (‘Mitchell & Webb Are Not Helping’), Ania Magliano (‘Taskmaster’), Annabel Marlow (‘Six The Musical’), and Emma Sidi (‘Taskmaster’).

Late last year, it was revealed that the UK would have its own take on the famous late-night comedy program, and people have been eagerly waiting to find out who would be the host.
Like always, each show will be performed live in front of an audience. Expect a beginning stand-up routine, funny scenes based on current events, live music, and a British version of SNL’s famous news parody, Weekend Update.
According to Phil Edgar Jones, head of original unscripted programming at Sky, they’re thrilled to be bringing the iconic American show Saturday Night Live to the UK, especially now, as everyone could use a good laugh. It’s been 50 years since the show first started in the US.
As a comedy fan, I’ve always admired this show’s knack for finding and developing incredible talent, and this UK adaptation promises to continue that tradition. With Lorne Michaels involved and a strong local team behind it, plus a fresh crop of hilarious new performers, I’m genuinely excited – Saturday nights just got a lot funnier!
Saturday Night Live UK launches on to Sky and NOW on Saturday 21 March.
