Marvel is preparing a major new storyline featuring Doctor Doom that will bring together several of its most popular heroes. Before the upcoming event, Avengers: Doomsday, characters like Scarlet Witch and Loki will team up in a new release. The story will focus on the growing danger Doctor Doom poses across different universes.

A new Marvel novel, “What If…The Multiverse Was Doomed?”, by DaVaun Sanders, will be available as an eBook from Penguin on August 4, 2026. The book will have 384 pages.

Okay, folks, get ready! Sources are confirming a seriously exciting team-up before the big “Avengers: Doomsday” event. Apparently, we’re going to see Loki, the Scarlet Witch, Kitty Pryde, and even Venom-Moon Knight joining forces to take on Doctor Doom. This is all happening before “Doomsday” hits theaters on December 18th, 2026 – mark your calendars! It’s a fascinating setup and I’m already anticipating how this alliance will play out.

This book is the fifth in a series of novels based on the Marvel ‘What If…?’ concept. Previous books explored alternate scenarios like Loki being worthy of wielding Thor’s hammer (by Madeleine Roux), Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker being siblings (by Seanan McGuire), Marc Spector becoming Venom’s host (by Mike Chen), and Kitty Pryde obtaining the Phoenix Force (by Rebecca Podos). This new installment, released in 2026, features characters from those previous stories.

As a huge fan of these kinds of stories, I’m really excited about the new film! From what I understand, it centers around America Chavez needing to assemble a team to take on Doctor Doom in a last-ditch effort. But it’s not just about a fight – we’re also going to learn what drove Doom to become so dangerous, and even explore what happened when the Watcher actually intervened to save the Multiverse. Apparently, the core of the story revolves around Doctor Doom traveling through different realities, desperately searching for a universe where his son, Franklin, exists.

The story follows Victor von Doom, who has searched throughout time, space, and different dimensions, and is now closer than ever to finding what he’s been looking for. When he learns that Franklin Richards is the son of his enemy, Reed Richards, Doom plans to exploit the boy’s reality-bending powers. With Doom on the verge of controlling all of reality across every universe, America Chavez must assemble a team of powerful individuals from the Multiverse for a final battle.
