It seems unlikely that a new Banjo-Kazooie game or even a remake will be released in the near future, so you might want to look elsewhere for your collectathon fix. If you’re craving something similar, you might enjoy Yooka-Replaylee, which is actually a remake of the original Yooka-Laylee title on PS4.
On the 9th of October 2025, Playtonic will release the PS5 remake version of their game, priced at £24.99 or $29.99 if you choose to download it digitally, while a physical copy will cost $49.99.
Purchasing a physical copy of the game comes with an upgraded packaging and exclusive extras, often referred to as bonus items, that are only available with the store-bought version. If you’ve already got the game installed on your PS4, you’ll be eligible for a 30% reduction in price at launch time.

Yooka-Laylee’s enhanced version offers numerous upgrades to the original game. It introduces fresh narrative elements, innovative mini-games, and challenging platform levels. There are also new types of collectibles to hunt down. The resolution and performance have been improved, and the controls as well as the camera have been refined for a smoother gaming experience.
The studio director, Gavin Price, referred to the package as “larger, more vibrant, more daring, and brimming with every detail we’ve long envisioned. We can hardly wait for gamers to dive in.” Players should also anticipate fresh elements such as an entirely redesigned map and a collector’s tracker. Additionally, the soundtrack has been upgraded; Grant Kirkhope and David Wise’s work has been transformed into an orchestral score.
The revamped and upgraded version of the popular indie platforming game, Yooka-Laylee, is called Yooka-Replaylee. This new edition was developed by the same creative minds behind Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games. You’ll find a mix of fresh challenges (remixed) and familiar favorites as you traverse vast, stunning open worlds alongside the adorable duo, Yooka and Laylee. Accompanying your adventure is an enchanting orchestral soundtrack.
In a unique twist, the Chief Marketing Officer at PM Studios, Ami Blaire, mentioned: “It’s scarcely common to witness a game enjoying such a renewed existence – not as an update, but as a genuine overhaul. This type of launch brings back memories of what initially drew me to platform games.
