On the 9th of October 2025, Playtonic will release the PS5 remake version of their game, priced at £24.99 or $29.99 if you choose to download it digitally, while a physical copy will cost $49.99.

Purchasing a physical copy of the game comes with an upgraded packaging and exclusive extras, often referred to as bonus items, that are only available with the store-bought version. If you’ve already got the game installed on your PS4, you’ll be eligible for a 30% reduction in price at launch time.

Yooka-Laylee’s enhanced version offers numerous upgrades to the original game. It introduces fresh narrative elements, innovative mini-games, and challenging platform levels. There are also new types of collectibles to hunt down. The resolution and performance have been improved, and the controls as well as the camera have been refined for a smoother gaming experience.

The studio director, Gavin Price, referred to the package as “larger, more vibrant, more daring, and brimming with every detail we’ve long envisioned. We can hardly wait for gamers to dive in.” Players should also anticipate fresh elements such as an entirely redesigned map and a collector’s tracker. Additionally, the soundtrack has been upgraded; Grant Kirkhope and David Wise’s work has been transformed into an orchestral score.
