Scream 7 – TRAILER

7th time lucky?

After a key character couldn’t return for Scream 6, the trailer for Scream 7 suggests things are getting back on track.

What’s it about?

Sidney Prescott, hoping for a peaceful life, finds her past catching up with her when a new Ghostface appears and targets her daughter. To protect her family, Sidney is forced to confront the terrifying events of her past and stop the cycle of violence for good.

Who’s in it?

The new film brings back familiar faces like Neve Campbell, who didn’t appear in the last one due to a salary disagreement, and Courteney Cox, who has been in every film in the series. Joining them are Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.

Look who writing and directing Scream 7

What’s really exciting about this new film is the creative team behind it. Kevin Williamson, the original screenwriter, not only co-wrote the script but also makes his directorial debut – it’s been 25 years since he last directed a film, ‘Teaching Mrs. Tingle’ in 1999. He’s the one who penned the scripts for the first, second, and fourth movies in the series. Interestingly, both Williamson and Neve Campbell had to be convinced to participate – Williamson persuaded Campbell to return, and she, in turn, convinced him to direct.

A few fascinating facts!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the first movie, released in 1996. Director Christopher Landon was reportedly considered for the seventh film, but he stepped down after receiving death threats following the firing of Melissa Barrera. He clarified that he wasn’t involved in the decision to let her go.
