Scream 7 – TRAILER

7th time lucky?

After a key character couldn’t return for Scream 6, the new trailer for Scream 7 suggests the upcoming film will address this loss.

What’s it about?

Sidney Prescott, hoping for a peaceful life, finds her past catching up when a new Ghostface terrorizes her town. This time, the threat hits even closer to home as her daughter becomes the target. To protect her family, Sidney is forced to confront the trauma of her past and stop the cycle of violence for good.

Who’s in it?

The new film brings back familiar faces like Neve Campbell, who didn’t appear in the last movie due to a salary disagreement, and Courteney Cox, who has been in every film in the series. Joining them are Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.

Look who writing and directing Scream 7

What’s most exciting about this new film is the creative team behind it. Original screenwriter Kevin Williamson not only co-wrote the script, but he also directed the movie – his first time directing in 25 years, since ‘Teaching Mrs. Tingle’ in 1999. Williamson previously wrote the scripts for the first, second, and fourth films in the series. Interestingly, both Neve Campbell’s return and Williamson’s decision to direct came about because they each convinced the other.

A few fascinating facts!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the first movie, released in 1996. Director Christopher Landon was reportedly considered for the seventh film, but he stepped down after receiving death threats following the dismissal of Melissa Barrera. He clarified that he had no involvement in the decision to fire her.
