There has been an update in Sean Kingston’s legal battle.
Five months following the conviction of wire fraud for the singer known as “Beautiful Girls,” his mother Janice Turner was also implicated. Subsequently, on August 15, as reported by NBC News, the singer identified as Kisean Anderson was sentenced to serve three and a half years in federal prison, followed by an additional three years under supervised release.
Last month, Turner, who is 63 years old, received a sentence of five years in a federal penitentiary, along with three years of probation, according to the source.
In March, both the mother and her son were convicted on one charge of conspiring to perform wire fraud and four separate charges of committing wire fraud.
In Kingston’s sentencing hearing, I, as his dedicated follower and supporter, shared my lawyer’s assertion. She expressed that despite his 35 years, the singer’s mindset remains juvenile, a consequence she linked to a severe jet ski accident he endured in 2011, as reported by NBC News. Furthermore, she highlighted that the majority of the repayments for the businesses involved had already been made.
His lawyer added, per the outlet, “I know he’s very sorry for what he’s done.”
Kingston also addressed the court, saying, “I’ve learned from my actions.”
Yet, the opposing side dismissed the notion that Kingston’s actions were due to his accident. In fact, Marc Anton, a representative from the Justice Department, stated in court as reported by NBC News, “Kingston is fundamentally a thief.

In simpler terms, Turner, known as the “Eenie Meenie” singer, was allegedly involved in defrauding over $1 million worth of luxury items such as cars and jewelry by claiming they had completed financial transactions that never actually took place, according to a press release from the Southern District of Florida’s U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2024.

As reported by NBC News based on Kingston’s 2024 indictment, it is alleged that Kingston and his mother exploited their celebrity status to deceive businesses into delivering goods before receiving payment. Subsequently, payments were made through fraudulent or invalid wire transfers. This deceptive practice is said to have continued until March 2024.
A day after the “Fire Burning” artist was detained by authorities in a Florida rental property, a search warrant led to his arrest in California on May 23, 2024. This occurred only hours later.
At that point, he chose not to contest extradition, getting transferred to Florida instead. There, they both made bail and pleaded not guilty to the accusations made against them.
