Lil Nas X is out from behind bars.
On August 25, the rapper known for his hit “Industry Baby” (whose birth name is Montero Lamar Hill) was freed from custody following an appearance before a Los Angeles judge, who charged him in relation to a recent altercation with local law enforcement.
As I stepped out from the Los Angeles Superior Court in Van Nuys, California, sporting a simple blue inmate uniform and a pair of casual sandals, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions. Awaiting me was an SUV that would take me to my next destination.
In the morning, reports came out stating that Lil Nas X faces four felonies – three for battery causing harm on a police officer and one for resisting a superior officer, as announced by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. However, according to the release, he has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
Should he be found guilty, the Grammy award recipient could spend up to five years behind bars in a state penitentiary, as stated in the official announcement. His court appearance for an initial hearing in this case is scheduled for September 15th.
TopMob News has reached out to Lil Nas X’s reps for comment but has not heard back.
On August 21st, the LAPD acknowledged that they were called to Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, California, due to a report of a man walking naked in the street at approximately 5:50 a.m. that day.
Although the LAPD didn’t officially identify him, the individual in question was recognized as Lil Nas X from pictures and videos acquired by TMZ earlier. In these recordings, Lil Nas X seemed to stroll down a street, dressed only in white cowboy boots and underwear, occasionally pausing for poses and glancing at the cameraman.
Upon their arrival, the individual made a move towards the officers, prompting his apprehension according to the department’s statement to TopMob News. He was subsequently taken to a nearby medical facility due to a potential drug overdose, and charged with Assaulting a Police Officer for his actions.
