Sega is removing a PlayStation 3 game from digital storefronts, but it won’t disappear completely. Players will still be able to access it, but only by purchasing a larger bundle of games – meaning they’ll have to pay more to play it. Fans of Sega are unhappy with this change.
With the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties approaching, Yakuza 3 Remastered will no longer be sold separately on the PlayStation Store, Steam, or Microsoft Store. It will only be available as part of the Yakuza Complete Series bundle, which costs $129, a significant increase from the previous $19.99 price. A physical copy of the Yakuza Remastered Collection, which includes the game, is available for around $29.99, but this could lead to limited availability of the physical edition in the future.
One of 2009’s Best RPGs
Yakuza 3 was first released in Japan in 2009, and made its way to Western audiences in 2010. It’s the third game in what is now known as the Like a Dragon series. However, players should know this isn’t the original PS3 version. This is a remastered version that initially came out for PS4 in 2018, and later became available on Xbox One and PC in 2021.

Yakuza Fans Are Not Happy
One fan expressed frustration that Yakuza 3 Remastered will no longer be sold separately and will only be available as part of the Yakuza Complete bundle. They also dislike the trend of completely remaking older games, stating that many players appreciate the original stories and characters as they are.
Another fan lamented the decline of the studio, calling its current state “just sad.” A third fan agreed, stating that if the new product is truly good, the older version shouldn’t be removed.
As of right now, Sega hasn’t addressed the criticism surrounding this choice, nor have they explained why they’re moving forward with it.
