Sekiro: No Defeat Announced – New Anime Based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Following some recent whispers, an anime adaptation for the game “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” was officially revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. This animated series, named “Sekiro: No Defeat“, is being produced by Crunchyroll, Kadokawa, Qzil.la and ARCH. You can watch the first trailer right here.

Under the guidance of Kenichi Kutsuna, renowned for “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and “One-Punch Man”, this anime faithfully converts the video game into an animated format. It features many recognizable boss encounters and scenes, such as Wolf’s limb-losing battle and the duel against Gyobu Oniwa leading towards Ashina Castle.

According to a recent press release, Kutsuna announced their ambitious endeavor to animate the visually stunning game, “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.” This undertaking will see them pouring all their creative ideas and love for aesthetic appeal into the project’s development.

We’re designing the end result to be an unforgettable journey for all, whether you’re a seasoned gamer immersed in the world of Sekiro or newcomer just stepping into its universe. Don’t forget to anticipate this incredible experience!

Among the impressive cast of this show, I can’t help but highlight a few standouts from my perspective. Screenwriter Takua Satou, who brought us “Otherside Picnic,” and character designer Takahiro Kishida, known for his work on “Haibane Renmei,” “Durarara!,” and “Serial Experiments Lain,” are truly noteworthy contributors. As for the voices, Daisuke Namikawa lends his talents to Wolf, while Miyuki Satou brings life to Kuro, the Divine Heir. Lastly, Kenjiro Tsuda voices Genichiro Ashina.

Keep checking back for further information, including the release date. The game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, can be played on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. By September 2023, it had sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
