After its debut on Xbox Series X/S and PC last year, Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 has now been released for PlayStation 5. Right from the start, it benefits from PS5 Pro Enhancements, featuring support for PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution and Variable Rate Shading. You can watch the launch trailer below.
In this new journey, Senua reappears as the central character, braving Iceland in an attempt to protect her community from the Northmen. The style of combat mirrors the original game, incorporating hack-and-slash mechanics and occasional puzzles. As Senua encounters the Furies – voices born from her mental affliction – she must navigate through them as well.
In conjunction with the launch of the PS5, an upgraded version has been rolled out across all platforms. This upgrade features a Performance Mode specifically for consoles, allowing for smooth 60 FPS gameplay, and introduces the Dark Rot Challenge. In this challenge, dying causes the Rot to spread throughout Senua, eventually resulting in the loss of all progress if it reaches her head.
Enthusiasts can anticipate over four hours of exclusive behind-the-scenes discussions, plus updated Photo Mode features, among other exciting elements. Feel free to peruse our review, in which we awarded it a score of eight out of ten.
