Seth Rogen is hopping on the Pineapple Express to the winner’s station.
At the 2025 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on September 14th, the actor known for *Superbad* won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy. He received the honor for his performance as Matt Remick in the Apple TV+ series *The Studio* and playfully recalled a funny past experience during his acceptance speech.
Seth admitted he was completely surprised by the win, explaining he hadn’t prepared any acceptance speech. ‘I’ve never won anything before,’ he said. ‘Actually, the closest I ever got was buying a used bowling trophy at a yard sale – and my parents thought that was a good idea!’
The 43-year-old winner, who beat out Adam Brody, Jason Segel, Martin Short, and Jeremy Allen White, also thanked his wife, Lauren Miller, his mother, and his fellow cast members, saying, “This is wonderful, thank you so much.”
Although Seth had been nominated for five Emmys before, this win is his first as an actor. He also received nominations this year for directing, writing, and the outstanding comedy series award, all shared with his frequent partner, Evan Goldberg.
This year, *The Studio* led all shows with 23 Emmy nominations. This tied the record for the most nominations for a Comedy Series in a single year, previously held by *The Bear*.
Before comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the ceremony, Seth and Evan expressed their excitement that their comedy series was receiving such high praise from others in the industry.

In a statement to TopMob News in July, the pair expressed their shock, saying, “We honestly didn’t expect this, and we’re not sure what to say.”
In their typical funny style, they jokingly thanked everyone – their parents, agents, publicists, even their preschool teachers and assistants – and also Apple. They quickly wondered if you’re only supposed to thank people when you win, then playfully panicked, saying they were already messing up their speech and decided to say no more.
