
Shia LaBeouf is opening up about his legal troubles.
The actor known for his role in Transformers explained why he was arrested for a minor assault during a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans on February 17th.
Shia LaBeouf explained to Andrew Callaghan on the February 28th episode of Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan that he had been drinking and felt someone had gotten too close to him. However, he acknowledged he wasn’t thinking clearly at the time and took responsibility for his reaction.
Honestly, I was just completely off, and what led me to say what I did isn’t really an excuse. The bottom line is, I used language that was unacceptable and hurtful, and I truly regret that. My faith is important to me, and it guides me to acknowledge when I’ve messed up – and I definitely messed up here. I take full responsibility for my words and the pain they caused.
New Orleans police have confirmed that a former Disney actor, who has publicly discussed his struggles with staying sober, was arrested shortly after midnight. Police say he allegedly assaulted two people.
According to authorities, 39-year-old Shia LaBeouf was causing a scene and becoming more and more aggressive at a business on Royal Street. An employee tried to remove him from the building, and after he was outside, LaBeouf reportedly punched the employee several times.
According to police reports, one victim stated that LaBeouf initially left the area, but then came back and was even more confrontational.

According to authorities, several people tried to restrain the suspect, hoping he would leave if they let him go. However, he allegedly hit the first victim again, punching them in the upper body. He then reportedly attacked another person, punching them in the nose.
Shia LaBeouf, who has a 3-year-old daughter named Isabel with his soon-to-be ex-wife Mia Goth, is fully accepting responsibility for what happened.
He admitted he deeply regretted hurting people, calling his actions unacceptable. He took full responsibility, saying he would deal with the consequences and accept all blame, emphasizing that the fault lay entirely with him and he had made a serious mistake.
He mentioned his jail experience was crowded and also talked about not knowing how long his sentence would be for what happened.
He said he’d take responsibility for his mistake, admitting it was bad and that his actions were awful. He felt he deserved any consequences that came his way.
