2025 has seen significant shifts in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump periodicals, and it appears another beloved series is preparing for its swansong with the launch of its final story arc. This year, Weekly Shonen Jump has garnered a lot of attention due to two major franchises concluding in rapid succession in 2024. The trend continued as more series came to an end in 2025. Meanwhile, the digital platform, Jump+, has also experienced its own transformations.
The Jump+ app by Shueisha in Japan is currently concluding several of its own series due to a wave of cancellations, but now one of its longest-running works is gearing up for its final act. Yu Hashimoto’s “2.5 Dimensional Seduction” has officially initiated its closing chapter with the latest release, which means fans of this popular spicy romantic comedy series should brace themselves for another farewell soon.
2.5 Dimensional Seduction Is About to End as Final Arc Begins
This week, Chapter 194 of Yu Hashimoto’s “2.5 Dimensional Seduction” manga was released (available for free via Shueisha’s MangaPlus service), marking the start of its final story arc. Entitled “As the Angels Will It,” this chapter finds the main group preparing for their future as several members prepare to graduate. Initially, Masamune Okumura was a boy who only appreciated 2D girls, but his feelings have evolved significantly during his time with Lilysa and the expanding manga club.
Okumura finds himself torn between his ability to love another person and doubts about whether he can, shrouded by a lingering darkness that prevents him from fully understanding his feelings. Despite efforts by Lilysa and others, Okumura remains perplexed. This confusion is particularly distressing for Mikari Tachibana, Okumura’s childhood friend who has secretly admired him and become a model, as she now questions her future after investing so much love into him and struggling to move forward. It’s during this period that the story begins to reach its climax.
What’s Next for 2.5 Dimensional Seduction’s Final Arc?
In the closing chapter of “2.5 Dimensional Seduction,” it is suggested that Mikari begins to question her role in the future, with her absence from school marking the first significant event of the final storyline. Though the exact length of the series remains uncertain, Yu Hashimoto initially introduced it through Jump+ back in 2019. Over a span of six years, the series has continued to unfold, and its conclusion may occur at the end of this year or extend into early 2026, depending on the creator’s decision for how long to continue the story.
The popular app Jump+ has recently lost some significant franchises this year, including Kaiju No. 8. However, there are still several popular series like Spy x Family and DAN DA DAN that continue to captivate audiences. It’s clear that Shonen Jump is entering a new phase, and it’s likely that many of the older series will soon be wrapping up their stories. So, get ready for some exciting changes ahead!
