Even though 2026 has just started, several manga series on Shonen Jump have already been cancelled before the end of January. Shonen Jump+, launched in 2014 by Shueisha, is a popular platform that publishes original manga for young audiences, as well as other types of comics. Many series on the platform, like Dandadan, Kaiju No.8, and Spy x Family, have become internationally famous. With so many choices available, some manga don’t receive the readership they need. Sadly, series that aren’t popular are often cancelled quickly. Shueisha rarely makes official announcements about cancellations, but it’s clear when a story ends unexpectedly just a few months after it begins. Last year, the platform ended dozens of series, and 2026 seems to be following the same trend.
In addition to the ending of Otr of the Flame and the conclusions of Ryota Killed His Brother and Re/Member: The Last Night on Shonen Jump+, another series is wrapping up. According to @WSJ_manga, a well-known source for Shonen Jump news, Junichi Kabuto’s manga G.G.G. will finish on January 24th, 2026, after 30 chapters. The action comedy, which debuted in April 2025, has a loyal fanbase who were saddened by the announcement.
What Is G.G.G. About?

Forty years ago, Omega was the most talked-about hitman in the criminal world – no one ever survived an encounter with him. Now retired, the aging legend lives in a nursing home, despite still being on an international wanted list. Pete Dentor, an 18-year-old caregiver at the same facility, dismisses the claims of an elderly resident named Chris Freeman, who insists he is Omega.
Pete has a big secret and worries Chris will discover it when they meet. He’s actually a professional hitman, nicknamed the Lone Wolf Hunter, and has been sent to a nursing home to find Omega and claim a $100 million reward. Though reluctant to target an elderly man, Pete takes the job hoping to gain acceptance within a mafia family. Surprisingly, he fails to find Omega, but finds himself fitting in with the other residents of the nursing home.
The story takes a turn for the worse when the hitman’s mafia employers reveal their ruthless side, pushing him to act on his own. He then teams up with Omega to defend a nursing home from assassins who are after Omega, and a reward for his capture. You can read all the chapters of this manga on the official Manga Plus app.
