Shueisha, the company behind popular anime like Dragon Ball, One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Founded on August 8th, 1926, Shueisha is a cornerstone of the manga industry and is kicking off the celebrations with a special gift for fans. Known for occasional crossovers, this anniversary event promises to be one of their largest yet.
To celebrate a huge milestone, Shueisha published a special newspaper ad in Japan and shared it online. The ad features iconic characters from popular Shonen Jump series like One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Death Note, Demon Slayer, and Bleach. Interestingly, despite their diverse backgrounds, all the characters included are over a century old – a fitting tribute for the series’ 100th anniversary! You can view the crossover image below.

Shonen Jump’s Big 2026

As a huge Shonen Jump fan, I’m so excited about everything coming up! Not only is Shonen Jump celebrating 100 years, but 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible year for anime! Just this month, we’re getting the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen and the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End! And this year, we’ll see new anime for favorites like Oshi no Ko, One Piece, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure! Of course, they’re still releasing awesome manga series, both new and classic, which is fantastic – Shonen Jump is a true staple in the world of manga and anime!
Several popular action manga series are returning this month, and fans are especially excited about one event: the Dragon Ball Genki Dama Festival on January 25th. This festival is expected to give fans a look at what’s next for the hugely popular Dragon Ball franchise, published by Shueisha. Since Son Goku and the Z Fighters didn’t appear at the recent Jump Festa, this event could reveal plans for the manga and anime’s future.
Getting published in Shonen Jump significantly increases a manga’s chances of being adapted into an anime, but it doesn’t guarantee it. Here at egmr.ru, we’ve noted several Shueisha manga being canceled in 2025 for different reasons. Usually, Weekly Shonen Jump cancels series due to low readership or lack of popularity. We hope to see far fewer manga cancellations in Shonen Jump during 2026.
We’re celebrating a huge milestone – 100 years! Share your thoughts in the comments below and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
