Following its announcement at State of Play, Annapurna Interactive, Konami, and Screen Burn Interactive have been promoting Silent Hill: Townfall, but haven’t revealed how much it will cost. Although pre-orders aren’t available on digital stores yet, Best Buy in the US is already listing the PS5 version for $49.99.
It’s notable that Annapurna’s Leanne Loombe described the game as a complete, well-made title that the team is proud to release after the announcements of the Silent Hill f and Silent Hill 2 remakes. Writer and director Jon McKellan of Screen Burn also calls it their largest and most ambitious project to date. Given that recent Silent Hill games cost $69.99, it’s surprising Konami is pricing Townfall lower.
The game’s relatively short length suggests it might be part of a collection of smaller games. If other independent developers contributed similar titles, Konami could easily release them all together as a single package. However, the fact that Townfall is a brand new game with no existing ties to the Silent Hill series doesn’t fully explain the unusual price of Silent Hill f.
Keep in mind that this listing might be temporary – the game’s cover art isn’t finalized yet, so we’ll share more details as they become available. Silent Hill: Townfall is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC later this year, with no current plans for an Xbox Series X/S release. This is the first full Silent Hill game played from a first-person viewpoint, offering a fresh take on the series’ signature horror.
