Sister Boniface Mysteries season 4 premiere date confirmed as quirky crime drama makes UK return

The beloved spin-off series Sister Boniface Mysteries, following the success of the extended BBC drama Father Brown, is making its comeback for a fourth season. We now have the precise date for its return.

The new episodes featuring Lorna Watson reprising her role as the winemaking and crime-solving nun have already started streaming on BritBox US. Starting from this coming Friday, 26th September at 9 PM, these episodes will be available on U&Drama in the UK.

The characters played by Max Brown (DI Sam Gillespie), Jerry Iwu (DS Felix Livingstone), and Ami Metcalf (WPC Peggy Button) are set to rejoin Watson in the show.

Among the stars joining us for the upcoming season are Les Dennis, known from Coronation Street; Katherine Kingsley, recognized from The Larkins; Martyn Ellis, famous for Renegade Nell; Mina Anwar, well-known for The Sarah Jane Adventures; Ed Birch, a familiar face in The Witcher; and Daniel Laurie, celebrated on Call the Midwife.

The preview for the upcoming season hints at: “A wild bronco causes chaos on a game show set, a menacing scarecrow terrorizes the streets of Great Slaughter, Scotland invades, a mysterious woman falls to her death during a botched stunt, and to add to all that, CC Lowsley (Robert Daws) has organized some sort of ‘team bonding’ event.

Throughout the game, there are numerous delightful scenes to experience. This year has brought some intricate cases, and there are many humorous instances where Sister Boniface’s thoughts wander off, exploring realms that are generally unexplored by most.

In the meantime, Watson, the lead in the show, spoke about the upcoming episode: “The atmosphere is tense; the people of Great Slaughter seem more united than ever, and you can really sense a strong feeling of unity, fellowship, and teamwork. I’d go as far as saying this season is quite significant.

She added: “I assure you, you won’t be let down. Max and I often express the same sentiment each year, yet, when you believe there’s no room for more, it always manages to expand further.

This project was quite extensive and filled with many intricate elements. Filming it was an absolute blast! I truly hope audiences find it as thrilling as we did during production.
