Red Art Games and Pugware announced that their Metroidvania action RPG, Skautfold: Moonless Knight, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 9th. The game will cost $14.99.
Skautfold: Moonless Knight was initially released as an Early Access game on Steam for PC on December 28, 2019, and then officially launched on March 4, 2020.
Here is an overview of the game, via Red Art Games:
A Skautfold Story
Step back into the dark, Lovecraftian world of the Angelic Empire of Britannia as Gray, the 2nd Knight. He’s been sent to Japan as a diplomat, but the mission quickly falls apart when a dangerous cult starts a rebellion. Now, you must explore the Oda Imperial Palace, navigate its complex groups, and save the Emperor and Britannia’s representatives!
This game continues the story established in Shrouded in Sanity, Usurper, and Into the Fray, bringing the Skautfold series closer to its end. While you can jump in without playing those earlier games, having that background will definitely enhance your experience.
A Tight-Knit Metroidvania
Choose how you want to play and which challenges you’ll take on. The game’s world lets you explore and find your own route to success, discovering hidden paths and unraveling the mysteries surrounding the Imperial Family and the very first God Emperor.
You’re free to challenge bosses in any order you choose. As you get stronger with safe zones, helpful companions, and powerful relics, you can revisit earlier areas. While exploring, be sure to help wounded soldiers, gather Yth stones, find the cleverly hidden ninja pugs, and watch out for dangerous creatures disguised as harmless treasure!
Explosive Combat
Survive intense battles with a revamped defense system! Master perfect blocks and well-timed dodges to stay alive. Every mistake weakens your defenses, and taking damage lowers your maximum health, but you can also break your enemies’ defenses and punish their mistakes!
Waltham Industry’s Vitae Injections quickly restore your health, and can even give you a boost beyond your normal limits. This increases your damage output and helps you withstand difficult attacks.
When disaster strikes and the moon rises, will you protect the Empire or succumb to a dangerous, otherworldly cult?
