What does the future hold for Skrulls in the MCU?

During a recent interview with Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, a viewer inquired about the future involvement of the Skrulls in Marvel Studios’ projects. Perez confirmed that indeed, the Skrulls are part of their ongoing plans.

In the year 2019, the Skrulls made their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the movie “Captain Marvel”. This famous comic book gang had a significant impact on the film’s storyline, and subsequently became the central figures in the Disney+ series titled “Secret Invasion”. This series featured both Samuel L. Jackson and Emilia Clarke, yet it garnered a diverse range of opinions from both critics and viewers, with some praising it while others found it less appealing.

At present, it appears the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is exploring a multiverse, temporarily pushing aside the Skrulls from making an appearance. The upcoming Marvel Studios production, Avengers: Doomsday, is speculated to cause major changes within the MCU. However, whether any Skrull characters will be included in this film remains unclear.

The movie “Avengers: Doomsday” will be released in American theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The sequel, titled “Avengers: Secret Wars,” is scheduled for release a year later, on December 17, 2027. Before both of these films, another Marvel movie featuring Spider-Man called “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will be out in theaters on July 31, 2026.
