Slay the Spire 2 Reportedly Sold 5.3 Million Copies in March, Netting $108 Million in Revenue

Although many were looking forward to Crimson Desert in March, Slay the Spire 2 quickly became the bigger hit in terms of sales on Steam. According to Rhy Elliott from Alinea Analytics, Slay the Spire 2 sold 5.3 million copies, earning $108 million and becoming the best-selling game on the platform that month.

It’s especially surprising when you remember the first game sold 1.5 million copies around two months after it launched – even though it had been in development for almost two years beforehand. While Crimson Desert received mixed reviews and a generally “Mixed” rating upon release, it still performed well. Reports indicate it sold nearly two million copies on Steam last month, and previously, it was claimed the game generated over $200 million in revenue across all platforms.

Resident Evil Requiem sold 1.2 million copies in its first month, generating $70 million in revenue, and has since reached 2.9 million sales on Steam. Capcom announced over two weeks after release that the game had sold over six million copies, and sales numbers have likely increased since then.

Despite recent challenges, the game Pragmata is launching soon and could be a big success on Steam. It will be available on April 30th, and is also heading to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, having recently completed development.
