Miranda Hope is defending MomTok—and herself.
After a video surfaced showing a 2023 fight between reality stars Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen (Paul later pleaded guilty to assault), Miranda addressed rumors that another “MomTok” influencer leaked the footage to TMZ.
She commented on the Instagram video, saying she saw it on the same day as everyone else. She also stated that none of the women involved ever had the video or any other related proof.
I’ve been following this whole situation closely, and Miranda directly responded to the rumors that she was the one who leaked the video. People were saying it was her because of past drama with Taylor – it all goes back to Miranda’s ex, Chase McWhorter, and claims about his involvement with Shinia Powell. Plus, she was one of the first to publicly address everything after the video came out, which made some people suspicious. She really set the record straight on all of that.
I didn’t mean to criticize Taylor with my previous statement; I just want to make it clear that I don’t approve of the actions of anyone involved. Taylor and I are good, and she’s apologized for everything with Shinia and Chase. I have some ideas about who leaked the video, but I can assure you it wasn’t any of the women.
Most of the stars from Mormon Wives haven’t spoken about the video of Taylor and Dakota, but Miranda and Layla Taylor did share their thoughts the day it became public.

Miranda, for her part, said she’d been “at a loss for words.”
It’s been really hard to watch everything unfold,” she shared in an Instagram Story on March 20. “I strongly condemn domestic violence and abuse in all forms. As a person, and especially as a mom, I can’t stand by when I see that kind of behavior.”
As someone who’s personally navigated challenging times, I feel a deep responsibility to speak out when I see injustice. Seeing the recent news, I just couldn’t stay silent about domestic violence – it’s something I strongly condemn in all its forms. My heart especially goes out to the children involved, and I’m sending all my positive energy for their well-being and safety right now.

Layla shared a message on Instagram explaining that, as a survivor herself, she couldn’t stay quiet about the situation. She strongly condemns all forms of domestic violence and is especially concerned for the well-being of the children involved, hoping they stay safe.

Production on season five of Mormon Wives has been temporarily stopped while police investigate a reported second incident between Dakota and Taylor that happened in February.
During a fan Q&A on March 19th, actress Mikayla Matthews explained the show’s filming was temporarily stopped because the female cast members collectively decided they weren’t comfortable continuing under the circumstances.
For more insight into the timeline surrounding Taylor and Dakota’s domestic disputes, read on.

Taylor Frankie Paul, who gained popularity on TikTok as #MomTok, was arrested in Utah on February 17, 2023, following an altercation with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. According to court documents obtained by ABC 4 Utah, she allegedly threw metal chairs and a wooden playset at him while one of her children was present. She shares these children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.
Court records show Taylor faces several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence with a child present that resulted in injury, simple child abuse, and criminal mischief, according to documents released by the Salt Lake County District Attorney and reported by TopMob News.
According to court documents, the responding Herriman police officer stated that Dakota told him he had been arguing with his girlfriend. Dakota reported that when he tried to leave, his girlfriend, Taylor, started hitting him.

In August 2023, Taylor admitted guilt to a serious assault charge, a third-degree felony, as shown in court records obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune. Four other charges against them were dropped and cannot be refiled.
For three years, the charges against her were put on hold. If Taylor followed the conditions of her agreement, the case would then be filed as a minor offense, according to court records.
As part of her agreement, Taylor was required to undergo evaluations for substance abuse and domestic violence, and complete any treatment recommended, all within three years. She also had to avoid breaking any major laws.

Taylor and Dakota welcomed their son a week ahead of schedule. On April 4, 2023, Taylor shared a photo from the hospital on Instagram, expressing their joy and writing, ‘These past two weeks with him have been wonderful. We all love him so much and are grateful he’s joined our family.’

Taylor told TopMob News that the fight with Dakota was definitely their lowest point.
She explained that he supported her because he understood what was really happening, even the things kept private. “It was a terrible night, and I really regret it,” she said. Dakota, having gone through a difficult time himself, completely understood how she felt. He told her, ‘I want to help you through this.’
As for the confrontation itself, she later said the incident had been building up.
She revealed on the Viall Files podcast in September 2024 that she’d experienced both an ectopic pregnancy and a chemical pregnancy a few months earlier. While hesitant to attribute it solely to hormonal imbalances, she acknowledged that her hormones were likely playing a role in how she was feeling.
Honestly, after everything that happened, I was really struggling. I felt completely lost and just… angry. It got to the point where I turned to drinking, which wasn’t my best moment. Dakota actually came to get me, and he was upset that I’d been drinking, and I understood why. It was a tough night, to say the least.
I recall being angry and throwing objects, and I didn’t even recognize my daughters who were on the couch. We had a babysitter, so they were probably upstairs asleep. Apparently, Dakota tried to tell me my five-year-old was there too, but I was so out of it that I didn’t even care, and I just threw another chair.

The reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu in September 2024, and the first episode of its initial season included footage of Taylor’s arrest in 2023.

Taylor publicly announced her breakup with Dakota in May 2025, following a revelation on the second season premiere of SLOMW. The show revealed Dakota had been unfaithful shortly after their son was born. Taylor shared the news on TikTok, stating, “Dakota and I are no longer together, and I wish him well.”
We were happily living together with our new baby, and I was starting to think about getting engaged,” she shared on the show’s first episode. “Then I found out he’d been lying to me the whole time.
In a fourth-season episode of SLOMW, Dakota confessed to having an affair with a friend, Shinia Powell. During a FaceTime conversation with Taylor, Dakota admitted, “It was a mistake, and I probably should have chosen someone else. The person I cheated with was always going to cause issues, and I really messed up by picking them.”

Taylor was unexpectedly chosen as the next Bachelorette for season 22, and she announced the news on the Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2025. This is a big change for the show, which typically selects contestants from past seasons of The Bachelor to be the Bachelorette.
Taylor saw it as a positive development, sharing in a preview for the upcoming season, “I think this was given to me to help with what’s next.”
Taylor shared that she’s faced criticism, judgment, and rejection, but believes those who truly get to know her will see she’s sincere, has good intentions, and deserves another opportunity at love.

Just before Taylor started filming season 22 of The Bachelorette, a conversation she had with Dakota aired on season four of SLOMW. During that conversation, Dakota apologized for his relationship with Shinia, admitting it was a mistake and a poor decision.
He explained that both he and Taylor had caused each other pain, but he still thought they loved each other deeply.
The couple acknowledged their relationship was unhealthy, and Taylor believed appearing on The Bachelorette would ultimately be beneficial for both of them, no matter the outcome. She felt it would provide a necessary pause and a chance for them to move forward and heal.
Dakota let Taylor know he still had feelings for her, saying he was glad she was happy and wished her well if she found someone else. He playfully asked her to keep him in mind, saying, “Save a rose for me, okay?”

Production on season five of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives temporarily stopped in February 2026 following a reported argument between Taylor and Dakota.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m following the news about Taylor and Dakota, and it’s been confirmed there’s an active investigation into a domestic dispute. The Draper City Police Department has shared with People magazine that allegations have been made by both parties involved. They’ve already spoken with Taylor and Dakota on February 24th and 25th, but understandably, they’re keeping the details private while the investigation continues. It’s a sensitive situation, and we need to respect the process.
According to a source who spoke with TopMob News, Taylor is taking responsibility for her actions and is primarily focused on shielding her son, Ever, from negative press surrounding his father and ensuring he maintains a positive view of him.

After Taylor and Dakota had a disagreement in 2026, TMZ released video of a physical fight between them that originally happened in 2023.
In the video, Taylor gets into a physical altercation with Dakota, yelling and trying to hit him. At one point, Taylor even puts Dakota in a headlock while Dakota records the incident on his phone.
“Look,” Dakota can be heard saying, “this is called physical abuse.”
The man could be heard telling the woman that their daughter was there as she began throwing metal barstools at him. During the argument, she claimed he pushed her to the floor before he started filming, while he insisted she was responsible and asked her to look after their 5-year-old. She later yelled at him to stay away from their daughter.
According to a police report obtained by TopMob News in 2023, the child was struck by a stool.
Following the video’s release, a representative for Taylor stated to TopMob News that it was part of an effort to damage her reputation. They said the video selectively presented information and was intended to divert attention from Dakota’s behavior. Dakota, however, dismissed Taylor’s accusations as untrue.

Following the release of footage showing a dispute between Taylor and Dakota in 2023, ABC announced it was cancelling season 22 of The Bachelorette. A Disney Entertainment representative told TopMob News, “We’ve decided not to proceed with the new season at this time, and our priority is supporting the family involved.”

Following ABC’s decision, Taylor broke her silence about the situation.
Taylor appreciates the support she’s received from ABC as she focuses on keeping her family safe. According to her representative, she’s been quietly dealing with significant mental and physical abuse, and threats, for years. Now, she’s finding the courage to confront the person responsible and is taking action to protect herself and her children from future harm.
The statement also highlighted that many women are silently enduring hardship caused by former partners who are controlling, possessive, and won’t allow them to rebuild their lives.
Taylor’s team said she is considering her next steps, getting help, and will eventually talk publicly about what happened.

Dakota addressed claims of domestic violence involving him and Taylor, stating in a March 19th interview with TopMob News that the situation, as seen in a video, was “deeply upsetting.”
He said he was sadly accustomed to false accusations regarding him and their relationship, and he firmly denied them all.
Dakota explained they’re prioritizing their two-year-old son’s well-being and expressed a hope that Taylor will do the same.
