Christian Pulisic is calling a foul on those Sydney Sweeney dating rumors.
The U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team captain denied rumors that he is dating the actress from the show Housemaid.
On December 28th, he posted on Instagram Stories (which have since disappeared) asking people to stop spreading false rumors about his personal life. He also emphasized the importance of verifying information, stating that inaccurate reporting can have serious consequences for individuals.
Christian, who’s been linked to golfer Alexa Melton for about a year, quickly dismissed rumors that he and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney are dating. He commented on an Instagram post claiming they were a couple, writing, “Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor.”
Despite recently saying she’s single, Sydney has been seen with music manager Scooter Braun on multiple occasions this year, leading to romance rumors.
In a recent interview with GQ, she shared that she’s currently single and not actively seeking a relationship. She explained that this year she’s realized how supportive and wonderful her female friendships are, and that she feels confident and capable on her own.
However, the 28-year-old is open to love—she’s just not in a rush to go find it.
She said that if she’s meant to find love, she will. She considers herself a romantic and hopes to find a lifelong partner, but she’s not someone who actively seeks relationships or enjoys going out constantly. She truly believes in the idea of finding ‘the one’.
Sydney, who ended her seven-year engagement with Johnathan Davino in March, has said she isn’t actively looking for a new relationship. She explained, “I’m not going to be rushing into anything.”
The Emmy-nominated actress shared her reasons for wanting to keep her private life out of the public eye.
She explained that keeping her personal life private is essential for her well-being. She feels she needs to protect her own mental and emotional health, and sharing everything publicly would leave her depleted.
I’m 28 and still figuring things out, like everyone else. I’m learning, I’ll make mistakes, and I’ll grow from them. I think it’s important to be able to do all of that without feeling like I need to explain every detail.

However, Glen’s mother, Cyndy Powell, quickly dismissed any relationship rumors, telling the Daily Mail in 2025 that Sydney is just a family friend.
