Building on the success of live-action adaptations like One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Yu Yu Hakusho, Netflix is now creating a live-action series based on the popular anime Solo Leveling. The show will follow Jinwoo Sung as he battles monsters, ventures into dungeons, and gains incredible powers. Although a release date and trailer haven’t been announced yet, the cast is starting to come together.
The live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling has cast its main characters: Byeon Woo-seok will play Jinwoo Sung, and Han So-hee will play Cha Hae-In. Kang Youseok is currently in talks to play the supporting character Yoo Jinho. Jinho joins Jinwoo early in the story and is known for his powerful equipment, thanks to his father’s position as a hunter. Though not as strong as Jinwoo, he’s a popular character who has managed to survive the events of the anime by staying close to Sung. With production underway, more casting announcements are expected soon.
The Future of Jinwoo

Since the exciting first season of the Solo Leveling anime, news has been quiet. While A-1 Pictures hasn’t announced a third season yet, there’s still plenty of material from the original story to create more episodes. Given the popularity of anime films, it’s possible Solo Leveling could also get a compilation movie to build on its success. Beyond finishing the main story, there’s even a sequel series following Jinwoo’s son, set years later. Solo Leveling isn’t just aiming for anime dominance, though – it’s expanding into other forms of media as well.
Fans of Solo Leveling have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming game, Solo Leveling: Karma. It’s a role-playing game set to release next year for PC and consoles, and it takes place between the original story and the sequel. Players will control a Jinwoo who is even stronger than the one we’ve seen before. The game will delve into a previously unexplored 27-year period, offering new stories and insights into Jinwoo’s world.
